RUBY’S POV

To lighten the mood after the whole revelation, Dax pulled me out of the cinema after we both bade the lady good night and we took a walk down the street, our hands intertwined as we strode in silence.

Then I saw an ice cream truck across the street and I suddenly craved ice cream so I pulled Dax along with me and we headed toward the truck still in our dress and tuxedo.

“What would the beautiful lady and gentleman have?” the man who sold the ice cream asked as he scooped a spoon into a cone and handed it over to the woman beside us. Then she walked away and it was just the three of us.

“I want a vanilla ice cream, three scoops,” I told him and his smile widened.

“I see you like the basics,” he said and I leaned against the front counter of his truck before smiling back at him as he handed my cone of ice cream to me.

“Sometimes, the basics aren't boring. It just means you don't want to complicate things” I replied and he laughed.
