RUBY’S POV

Later that night, after I had rushed home to take a shower and wear fresh clothes, I returned to the hospital, ignoring the fact that my luggage had arrived, and chose to stay with Sally instead until she would be awake.

She woke up when it was only a few minutes to midnight and I was overjoyed to see her awake again. Dax wasn't with us this time, he had returned to his house along with Simon so it was just me and Clarissa tending to Sally after the doctor had checked her vitals and redressed her wound.

“I lost my shit when I received your call, Clarissa. I was so scared for Sally and for a moment, I had this horrifying scene play out in my head where I lost her just because I was with Dax” I told Clarissa after we had read many stories to Sally just to put her back to bed.
