MARINA
I ended up having a lot of fun with Jason. We went around and played games at the little booths set up by his fraternity brothers. He made me laugh a lot which I very much needed with all the things that were going on with my life.
At the end of the day, he insisted on driving me home, so I agreed. I told him to park two blocks away from my house because I didn’t want my mom to know I was on a date with someone.
“Thank you for inviting me to this thing and driving me home. I had fun,” I said and offered him a smile.
He smiled back. “It’s my pleasure. I hope this isn’t the last time we get to hang out.”
I shook my head. I would like to see him again too. I spent all day with him, yet he was never too forward or aggressive. He didn’t even try to kiss me yet. “I want to see you again too,” I said quietly.
“Good. I’m glad,” he said and took my hand in his. &ldqu
MARINAI woke up early in the morning and checked my phone but was disappointed. Jason didn’t text me. Maybe he decided he wasn’t interested in it after we hung out.But it didn’t feel like that when we kissed last night.I still had a throbbing headache from last night but decided to ignore it and go to school. At least there would be a chance to see Jason if I went. Besides, I needed to be as far away from my mom as possible.I felt a certain dread at the pit of my stomach as I walked inside the campus. These past few weeks had been crazy. After hearing about two dead bodies, I was starting to be scared to come in. I’m sure everyone felt the same way.The campus was nearly empty as the classes didn’t start yet. I was about Forty minutes early. Maybe I should’ve stayed in bed a little longer.I saw the things from the festival yesterday were missing as they had started to tear the booth down. They must&rs
MARINAI knew what this special agent lady was thinking about. She was looking at my lips that were stained with red lipstick. She was silently accusing me of killing them because I was wearing the same color of lipstick the killer used to draw those symbols. For the first time since everything had happened, I was terrified. What if all the evidence is pointing at me for a reason? What if I did murder those boys and didn't remember? No, that's impossible. I was not a murderer. Besides, I liked Jason. He was the one who was nice to me. We kissed, and everything was wonderful. So why was he dead? Why?"Are you okay? You look pale," Special Agent Danna commented. "Did I rattle with my s
MARINA"Is this really okay?" Logan said as he took my shirt off.I nodded. "I want to be with you," I said. I didn't know where all my confidence was coming from, but I wanted him to go farther than just kissing. I wanted him to touch me all over and make me feel more. Maybe I just wanted to feel him so I could forget about all the horror that was happening around me."Wait," I whispered as he started to kiss my body.He looked up, and I saw sadness in his eyes. "Do you want me to stop?"I almost laughed. Does he think I'm asking him to stop? "No, I just wanted to say that...it's risky. If I'm too loud, my mom might hear us from her bedroom."Logan chuckled lightly. "Then I guess you better make sure you don't moan too much," he leaned down and kissed my cheek.I shivered. "Easy for you to say," I whined. I let out a soft moan as he lightly touched one of my nipples with his tongue. "I can't help it," I said.He took my hand.
MARINAI instinctively looked at myself as soon as I woke up. I sighed in relief. There was no blood. But Logan was gone. I was suddenly worried. I didn't remember saying goodnight to him last night. I never saw him leave. My body was so exhausted that I couldn't keep my eyes open. What if something happened to him. What if I killed him and forgot about it? Maybe that's what happened with the others.I laughed out loud. I was being ridiculous now.I put some clothes on and left the house. I had a class in a few hours, so I figured I'd start walking now. I couldn't wait to find a job so I could save enough money and buy a car. Walking to school every day was tiring, and relying on my mother for money was not fun.I almost screamed when I saw Logan standing outside my house and smiling. Relief washed all over my body. He wasn't dead!I ran into his arms and kissed him passionately."Mmm...I could get used to this every morning,"
"Dawn?" Logan raised his eyebrows."Yes, how do you know her?" I asked.Logan hesitated. "It's nothing. We kind of had a thing," he said.I looked at him with surprise. Somehow, I couldn't imagine Logan having a thing with Dawn. It's not that she was out of his league or anything. On the contrary, Logan was handsome with his piercing gray eyes and sharp jaw. He could easily get any girl if he really tried, but somehow I couldn't imagine him trying. Especially not with a girl like Dawn, who was a little out there."What? You don't believe me?" He chuckled."I do. I just don't understand. How did you meet her, and why didn't you tell me?" I asked.Logan shrugged. "It was nothing, really. I met her at a summer camp last year, and we had a short fling. She wanted to continue dating afterward, but I didn't feel like having a long-distance relationship with her, so I said no. I had no idea she was going to move into this university.""So, y
LOGANI needed to do something about Dawn. She was starting to become a nuisance.I couldn't let her ruin the relationship between Marina and me. I waited too long for this, so there was no way I would let Dawn break us apart. What Marina and I have is special, and nothing could come between us. I wouldn't allow it.And the night I spent with Marina was amazing. It was everything I had ever dreamt about.I decided to message Dawn and ask her to meet up in secret. At first, she said no. I guess she is pissed off about Marina. She probably felt like I replaced her with Marina. Oh well, it's not like I owed her anything. I wasn't lying when I said Dawn and I only had a fling and nothing else. She agreed to meet me at the park near my house, which surprised me. Wasn't she worried about meeting me alone? She should really be more careful. It was also starting to get dark outside."So, what's so urgent that you called me here so late?" she asked o
MARINA"Who was at the door?"It took me a while to make up excuses for my mother, so I didn't have to deal with her cursing me out.Oh no, she wouldn't stop at cursing. She would make sure this time I would be gone for good. She had kept me around all this time because she needed someone to take care of the house and her, but I'm sure she was dying to get rid of me.I never understood why. Why did she hate me so much? What did I do to deserve the way she treats me?These questions I had asked her for years but never got a clear answer. The next day, I left home and expected Logan to wait for me, but he wasn't there. His car was missing too. He was already gone.Disappointment washed over me. Was he tired of me already? No, that didn't make any sense. It has only been a day since we got together. How can he be tired of me already?I walked to school like usual and went to all my classes. I looked around the campus in bet
MARINAI picked up the camera then instantly regretted it. I shouldn't have touched it. What if I contaminated the evidence? Wait, calling it evidence would suggest that Logan was...No, no, it can't be. Logan was fine. Nothing bad happened to him, I said to myself, then started to look around."Whose camera is this? It looks expensive. And is this blood on it?" Steven said and poked his head over my shoulder to take a look."It's my friend's camera," I said flatly and stared at it."Oh shit! Is he hurt?" Steven gasped. No, I don't believe this, I thought in my head instead of answering Steven. I needed to find Logan, and I needed to find him soon. Even if he wasn't dead, he could be hurt somewhere."Come with me," I said and motioned Steven to follow me. I felt bad for getting him involved in my mess, but I didn't feel like being alone right now.We walked through the backyard. It was huge and led to the woods. A million quest
