Chapter 15

MARINA

I woke up early in the morning and checked my phone but was disappointed. Jason didn’t text me. Maybe he decided he wasn’t interested in it after we hung out.

But it didn’t feel like that when we kissed last night.

I still had a throbbing headache from last night but decided to ignore it and go to school. At least there would be a chance to see Jason if I went. Besides, I needed to be as far away from my mom as possible.

I felt a certain dread at the pit of my stomach as I walked inside the campus. These past few weeks had been crazy. After hearing about two dead bodies, I was starting to be scared to come in. I’m sure everyone felt the same way.

The campus was nearly empty as the classes didn’t start yet. I was about Forty minutes early. Maybe I should’ve stayed in bed a little longer.
