Chapter 18

MARINA

I instinctively looked at myself as soon as I woke up. I sighed in relief. There was no blood.

But Logan was gone. I was suddenly worried. I didn't remember saying goodnight to him last night. I never saw him leave. My body was so exhausted that I couldn't keep my eyes open.

What if something happened to him. What if I killed him and forgot about it? Maybe that's what happened with the others.

I laughed out loud. I was being ridiculous now.

I put some clothes on and left the house. I had a class in a few hours, so I figured I'd start walking now. I couldn't wait to find a job so I could save enough money and buy a car. Walking to school every day was tiring, and relying on my mother for money was not fun.

I almost screamed when I saw Logan standing outside my house and smiling. Relief washed all over my body. He wasn't dead!

I ran into his arms and kissed him passionately.

"Mmm...I could get used to this every morning,"
