Chapter 60

Bas POV

I clutched my chest, sinking to the ground as the tears I had held back came rushing out. "If you were here, I wonder what you'd think of me... a weakling, perhaps," I chuckled bitterly, wiping the tears from my eyes. "But I... I had nowhere else to go."

I always had to pretend to be strong, to be the perfect son, the perfect lover, the perfect Alpha. But with Sam, he saw the broken part of me and he never judged me for it.

I rested my back against his grave, feeling the coolness of the stone seep through my shirt. I picked up a blade of grass, twirling it between my fingers as memories flooded my mind.

"Remember when I called you weak for falling in love?" I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper. "Well, I met this girl, and she's just perfect. With her, I wish time could stop forever.
