He stared into the security cameras screen. He was frowning hard. Because he thought that he would never see, the now woman, but at the time she was just a girl who bore his children, again.

Back then he didn’t see her as beautiful. Cute maybe. But at the time, when he had looked at her and when he pictured if he had a daughter that he hoped she would be cute like her.

So with that thought, he drew up a contract and had it signed by her that night.

The contract to bare him a son.

And in that contract, it was stated that she had to agree to be blindfolded. Because he had to remain hidden.

The contract stated that once the child was born the baby were handed over to him and the girl went her own way.

Of course she didn’t do it for nothing.

She was a smart girl, even at eighteen. She was a good negotiator.

She had agreed if her whole tuition at college. That was five and a half years ago. Just under five years when she went her own way.

I heard that she went to Boston for her schooling.

Now, she was back.

Now, she looked different.

Of course she looked like her. But not the young girl he made love to, every night for a month and a half.

And to be honest, which he would never admit it out loud. But he had formed a kind of an attachment to her. But back then, she was just a girl. He would never had thought about starting something with her.

But now....

Now she was this beautiful, this damn sexy thing that dared for him to challenge her.

She was now a woman.

He was going to have his fun.

She was here for only one thing.

A job interview.

She was unaware of who the boss was. But he was going to hire her regardless of how the interview went.

It made him smile at the thought of what was to come.

...

I sat nervously waiting for the time for my interview.

I’ve never had any job interviews before. I didn’t know what to expect from them.

‘Vera Rayne.’ I woman called her name.

It made her heart beat faster as she stood up. The nerves were assaulting her stomach.

As she walked to the woman who called her name while she tried to swallow her lump in her throat.

‘The boss is ready to see you now,’ she had said and then guided her to the bosses office.

The lady opened the door and told Vera to step on through.

Vera stepped in and then stopped short when her eyes met those of the man who she was known to be the boss.

There was something oddly familiar about him. But she didn’t know.

She put it down to nerves.

Though she felt the atmosphere around her.

Dangerous and imitating.

She felt.

But she needed a job.

Only coming back to her hometown last week. The last four years, she was away at Boston. She studied hard for those four years.

For those four years she didn’t have to work. Because she had made a deal, possibly with the devil, she has thought multiple million times over the years.

Though there was the one kind gesture he had done that made her think otherwise. Because once she had delivered the child, and had been released from hospital, she had checked her bank account to find that the devil had given her and extra two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

She was thankful and still had quite a bit of the money. But she needed to find a place to stay.

‘Please, take a seat.’ Luke, the president of R Corporations, had said.

His voice oddly familiar. Deep and stern.

While Luke spoke, his heart beat faster.

Vera sat down at the only chair that was available. It happened to be directly in line with the man. He looked her directly in the eyes.

All she could think was Shit.

The man was hypnotising.

She then notice the man standing to his right. His body stiff and intimating. With his arms crossed his body.

He looked just as stern as the boss.

He must be his bodyguard.

‘State you name.’ Luke said. His voice of authority.

‘Vera Rayne.’

He seemed to look like he was in thought.

The interview went on. Vera feeling on edge and uncomfortable. Luke, he was just sexually frustrated.

‘Are you married.’ He suddenly demanded.

Luke couldn’t help it.

Vera was confused as to why he would ask.

‘No,’ she answered, frowning.

‘Boyfriend then?'

Vera frowned deeper.

Luke thought it made her look just as beautiful.

Vera didn’t know why he would want to know. What it had to do with him

Luke grew irritated by Vera’s silence.

His mind going insane thinking that silence meant that she did indeed have a boyfriend.

Then he began to imagine, if she did have a boyfriend, what would he look like. What was her type. And so on.

‘No.’ She had finally answered. Luke thought she wasn’t going to.

‘OK,’ he said feeling relieved. Though he would never show it.

The interview finished shortly after and Vera left in a daze. Walking to the nearest coffee shop. She ordered a coffee and a piece of chocolate mud cake.

She sipped her coffee thinking what the Hell just happened.

Back at R Corporations Luke ordered his personal assistant to find out everything there is to know about Miss Rayne.

Josh Bryn, he knew exactly what was going on.

He didn’t know Miss Rayne at all.

But he knew Luke.

He has for many many years. So he believes that he knew him well. He was close to his boss. Though not a lot of people were.

You see, he saw Luke as a complicated man. Strict and emotionless. He was well disciplined.

Yet Josh could see Luke coming undone.

What was special about this girl? He wondered.

Sure she was pretty.

But not his type.

Though, he found himself liking her.

Because maybe, just maybe, she will be the one to change his boss.

After all, in all the years he has known Luke, he has never seen his boss even flinch in the presence of a woman before.

Josh left his bosses office in hope that he would find something about the woman who may have caught his bosses eye.

Luke watched his most trusted employee leave his office. He knew he could trust Josh to find something on this woman.

He was going to have her.

For how long?

It was undecided.

Luke then picked up his office telephone and pressed one. That dialled to his secretary, whose table was just outside his office in the corner.

He told the woman to cancel the rest of the interviews. And then hung up before she could say, Yes Sir. Or. Yes boss.

He didn’t need to see any other interview. Because he was set on hiring Miss Rayne.

He was going to play it cool though. He wasn’t going to pick up the phone and call Miss Rayne. He would wait at least a day or two.

Of course he was going to be impatient and frustrated waiting that long.

But, he wasn’t desperate.

Right?
