BETTY’S POV

Watching Max get better was calming. I watched as she and Ace played a game together, and every time Ace was winning, he would groan. He was recovering very fast. The doctor said he would be discharged the next day, and I was excited. Excited to leave Moonlight and go back to Viking Hills with Ace.

My phone beeped, and I looked down at it.

“Let’s meet at the park by 5 pm,” the message read.

Since the previous message last night, this was another from Drake.

I wondered what he wanted to talk about. I knew he was upset, and I was hoping he would forgive me after the talk. We would be very good friends, and I want that.

“Babe?” Ace called. Yes, he uses endearing words now.
