ACE’S POVThe packed house was in confusion. Betty had gone into labor for six hours now, and no news from the doctors yet. Her screams filled the house. She insisted on staying at home instead of the hospital. I panicked as I heard her scream again. Max was running around the house playfully, not having any worry. He had grown into a fine young lad. Stubborn, cheerful, and intelligent. The past year with them, my family has been blessed. Betty got pregnant two months after marriage, and we were expecting a baby girl. The pack progressed speedily under her reign as Luna. She had brought her clothing line to Viking Hills, and it provided job opportunities for millions of people. The pack was thriving, and I have never felt more glad. Glad to have a family and a pack that I love.“Ace. Calm down,” Luke tried to make me stop pacing the living room.“How can I? She has been screaming like this for the past six hours,” I said.“She is in good hands. I would check again.” Luke left. Alpha
DRAKE’S POV That night, Betty and I had taken a walk. I wanted to apologize to her and just get things over with already or well, that’s what I thought. As soon as I saw her, I wanted her. I wanted her all for myself. I was immediately filled with rage. Rage that she chose Ace over me even after our years of friendship. I was equally angry at Ace, for suddenly showing up and sweeping her off her feet. I just wanted to talk but it went the other way round. The night ended with Ace beating me severely, leaving me half dead. I always knew I was no match for him. He was stronger and bigger. I shouldn’t have raised my hand on Betty. I didn’t even hit her but the intentions alone led to the fight. I was angry, sad and broken. I watched her and Ace leave that night and that was the last time I saw her.I didn’t bother to reach out to her after she left. I stayed mad at her for the longest time but I knew it was all just anger that she wasn’t with me instead. Betty is every man’s dream. Har
DRAKE’S POV“Hey, Max,” I said as I lifted the kid in the air.“You have grown so big,” I added. He looked more like Ace, and that annoyed me. A little girl tugged behind him. She looks so adorable, and the mini replica of Betty. She smiled.“Are you not just so adorable?” I dropped Max and squatted to the kid. She smiled widely. They gave me flutters. Same eyes and smile with Betty.“I got you guys a gift,” I said, and their eyes widened with excitement.I snapped my fingers, and the guard behind me brought in bags of toys, clothes, and some other kinds of stuff kids would like. They excitedly rambled through the box and picked out kinds of stuff. Betty smiled at them. Ace didn’t look comfortable, but he just had to say nothing because the kids liked it. “I got you something, too.” I handed Betty the box. She was surprised and immediately looked at Ace for consent. He frowned. She smiled at him, and he nodded. Their relationship was envious, but it made me angry. She accepted the bo
Drake’s POV Cynthia kissed me as soon as we came out of the room. I was surprised, but I played along to whatever she was doing. After the surprised kissing, I looked at Betty. She looked equally surprised.“Good morning, Betty,” I greeted.“How was your night?” She asked.“Pretty cool. Thank you again for letting us stay,” I replied. Cynthia walked to my side and held my hand. She greeted Betty. She was out for work, and I told her that since the storm was not over yet, we were going out shopping. She said her goodbyes and left. The shopping was pretty quick. We picked a few clothes and shoes. We finished earlier than I thought, so I decided to talk a tour around the pack. New infrastructures and companies had been established. The pack looked neat, big, and thriving. I felt jealous. It was way bigger and better than my pack. Over the years, my pack had a decline in latex production, its main source of income. So, revenue generation and growth as been tough. I sighed. Cynthia place
DRAKE’S POVHaving to help Betty around the house has been one of my favourite things to do since I started staying with them. We always had spare time together to talk and laugh. Even though Ace was obviously not comfortable with everything, Betty still talked to me. She didn’t look jealous about Cynthia and me, though. Cynthia has been putting up different acting to make her believe our relationship. It was believable, and she did believe it, but she wasn’t jealous. I had expected her to flare up and act jealous and angry, but she was, in fact, happy for me.She said she had always wanted me to find someone that would make me happy, and it looks like Cynthia was doing the job. Ace still didn’t believe in the whole charade, and he showed how disgruntled he was about my staying. He avoided me, which gave me more time with Betty. I have heard them have a series of argument about my staying. The storm wasn’t going to stop not until the next week. I still had a lot of time to prove to B
Betty’s POVGoing back to Viking Hills pack with Ace was the best decision I have ever made. I was shown love, honor and care, and was treated like the queen I was. We got married and had one more child, Alexa. Even though I lost myself on the way, friends, business deals and lots of other things, I was glad to have my family. Ace made a great father. He is gentle with the kids and shows them love and attention.Ever since I left Moonlight Pack, I didn’t hear from Drake not until the night he showed up at the party. I was surprised to see him, happy to know he was doing okay. He looked different though. He looked rough. He came with his mate. I was genuinely happy that he found someone. Ace wasn’t excited to see him not even after he apologized. I talked to him but he wasn’t still comfortable with him around, I knew he would be over it since he was around just for the party.Drake didn’t return home. The storm kept him in Viking Hills and I wouldn’t want him to lodge in a hotel when t
"This way, Miss." I turn to the strange woman, dressed in some white and blue tailored outfit with an apron over it. A couple of other servants who have walked past us are dressed like her. But they don't have the apron, the cap on her head, her stout gait, or the sternness in her voice. She must hold some kind of high position to be able to incite fear easily with just her voice. "One moment, please. I just need to talk to my father." I plead again, trying to get out of the massive gate in front of me.I get blocked off by the guards with rigid looks on their faces. Father is flagging down a taxi with a satisfied grin on his face and the bag of cash in his hands."You should stop saying that and come with me. I don't have all day!""I can't just go with you. I need to speak with my Father…""You can't speak with him or with anyone outside the gate from here on. You've been sold to the Packhouse as a breeder. You have no more business with the outside world. How hard is that to unde
The clock ticks midnight and I hurry out of the bed, gripping the silk fabric of my nightie. He'll be here soon. The thought of that makes my heart give a crazy thud against my chest. The head maid, Mary, had been very specific about the time of his arrival. Yeah, I realized why she's dressed differently and has that rigid aura around her. She's the head maid and has worked the longest here in the Packhouse. She also mentioned that I have to look soft and accessible. I shouldn't question him and I should do whatever he asks. With no delay. He hates delay. I can get killed for it.She also said —"Get out!" A rigorous, deep, and fierce masculine voice yells outside the door. I hear footsteps scurrying away. Is it the soldiers the head maid Mary placed at my door to keep me from running away? Who just gave them that order to leave? The doorknob turns and the door opens. I gulp repeatedly, intertwining my clammy, shaky fingers. A man walks inside and shuts the door behind him. Bolts
