Chapter Thirty-nine
Hayden
Madeleine was just standing there, staring at me with wide eyes. I folded my hands and looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
Tears trickled down her face as she answered with a stammer, “I…I was just passing by…”
Walking near her, I held her hands in mine and took the paper from her hand. It was about the treaty I had been working on.
“What is this, Madeleine?”
She sobbed and answered, “I…Garron asked me to spy on you…”

“And you were here to do that? Spy on me?”

Raine As if on cue, he spoke in a resigned voice, “Madeleine was caught red-handed in my office, trying to spy on me and give away confidential information to her alpha, Garron.
