Deep seated Issues

Ember’s POV

I walked down the staircase wondering where everyone was, the whole atmosphere seemed damp and I wondered if there was an occasion I wasn’t informed about.

I walked further to the dining table and I only found Elise there eating, with a very bright and delighted smile on her face. I was quite surprised to see Elise this happy.

I didn’t mean it was anything wrong for her to be happy but normally she was with a frown, her temper never allowed her to be that overjoyed time:

“Good morning Elise.” I greeted taking my seat directly in front of her on the dining table. She finally looked up at me even if she knew I was standing at the corner all this while.

“Good morning Ember, how are you feeling? I hope you had a good night's rest?” She inquired still with her welcoming smile plastered on her face.

“I must say I am very impressed with this attitude of yours. What’s making you so happy? It’s been a long while since I have seen you overjoyed, what good news?” I awake calmly. I
