My mouth flung open. Suicide? It couldn’t be. Zhuri was full of life yesterday. She was sad when she spoke about Paris, but she wasn’t looking suicidal. She promised to serve and protect me and my unborn children. How was it possible that she’d taken her own life less than twelve hours later?

Logan stared at Zhuri’s body with a dull, slack face. Bobby gave him the suicide note, and he read through it. A loud cry that almost made my heart stop roared at my back. I turned, and it was Harper crying. She dumped the clothes in her hand and dashed to Zhuri’s lifeless body lying on the floor.

“Mummy, no.” She hugged Zhuri’s body and wailed.

The sight made my eyes more teary. I stormed back into the elevator because I couldn’t keep watching. I went back to our room on the fifth floor and couldn’t help but pace back and forth. My heart ached heavily in my chest. Something wasn’t adding up. Why would a mother with a grown-up daughter kill herself? Tears rolled down my cheeks. Logan ente
