Chapter 6

Danica

I stared at her reddened face and wanted to pull her pink hair out of her head. I knew she wasn’t angry because of the broken conservation glass scattered on the floor, but because it was a good outlet for her to pass out the anger of losing Logan to me.

“You think you can walk into anywhere in the pack house because you were given the Luna title. This place is off-limits to everybody, but you didn’t just enter here; you broke an artwork too. You think Logan will let this slide because you are what? His fated mate?” Lily ranted. I removed my hand from my cheek and grinned.

“Don’t ever do that again.” I stared at her with contempt. I was angry and wanted her to regret hitting me, but it was too early to be causing trouble. I hadn't even spent twenty-four hours in the pack.

“Or what? You’ll hit me back.” She chuckled. “I don’t even have to lift a finger to do anything, including getting rid of you. Do you know why I swallowed my pride and returned when Logan told me I'd have to leave the pack if I left the dining room? I guess you don’t. I have my own pride, but I have worked hard for years to earn that title that you just came out of nowhere and took over. I’m not a shameless weakling. If you think I’ll watch you as Luna without a fight, you must be joking.”

“Pinkie, you have a problem with me being Luna; take it up with Logan and not me.” I sneered and walked past her.

She grabbed my arm. “Lily, I’m Lily. Get that into your tiny fucking head, and I’m not done with you.”

"Well, I’m done.”

"No, we are not.” She jeered, still holding onto my arm.

Heat flushed through my body. She was making me fight hard to suppress my anger, including the glare on my face that I couldn’t control.

“What will you do? Do you want to hit me? I was told you’re a latent omega who picked on everybody in the pack, including your sister. Oh, she isn’t your sister; her parents picked you up from the street as a baby. I got the information about you in less than five minutes. Didn’t I tell you I don’t have to lift a finger to do anything?” She smirked.

The bitch was confident in herself. I doubted if I could stand a chance against her confidence, but I could as well fake it and see who wins. She must have felt threatened enough to inquire about me.

“I've never thought I'd get so important that someone would go out of their way to research me. I’m really feeling tempted to hit you, and I might feed the urge if you don’t let me go now.”

Hawaii arrived with three maids and rushed in upon seeing us staring daggars at each other.

"Lily, let her go.” Hawaii yelled.

“Stay out of this, Hawaii.” Pinkie scowled at her.

“She's Luna. How can I?” Hawaii’s eyes brightened as she grabbed Pinkie’s hand.

Ah, Luna. I was loving the title. As good as it felt, it was weird that someone was standing up for me, though we met a few hours ago.

“I can fend for myself.” I told Hawaii. I knew she could end this since she and Pinkie knew one another much longer than I did, but I was scared I would become weak if people kept standing up for me instead of doing it myself.

“Luna!” Hawaii’s eyes were overtly bright. “Alpha would be mad with you when he finds out about this, Hawaii.” Tremors gripped her voice.

“Go.” I snapped at Hawaii, and she dragged her feet out of the studio, disappointed and scared about the consequences if Logan found out. She stood at the door, watching with a worried-sick face.

Pinkie left my arm and stared dead into my eyes. “Leave the pack now, for your sake.”

I burst into laughter. Was she kidding? If I were to leave the pack, it wouldn't be because a whore said so or for fear of what she could do to me. I had experienced worse circumstances, and I had never run, even when I got the chance to.

“Pinkie, you can try better. I'm not scared of you.”

“Not yet?” She pushed me back, and I giggled. She was really trying on me. I tied my hair up, and she pushed me again.

“Stop it.” I softly muttered.

“Or what, bitch?” She pushed me further, and my back hit the wall. She pressed me against the wall with her fingers, pressing my chins.

“I'm warning you, whore.” I muttered again.

“Leave the pack now, or you'll regret staying. I'm warning you too.” Her cold eyes protruded.

I scoffed. I have tried to contain my anger to the best of my ability, but then I lost my patience.

“I warned you.” I grabbed her clothes. When she wasn’t seeing it coming, I hit her nose. She held her nose and scowled at me. She plunged at me, but I pushed her, and she fell to the floor. I pulled her hair, and she screamed in pain.

“Let me go.” She fought back at me, but luckily for me, I was wilder than her.

“I did warn you. Didn't I? Bitch, if I'll leave the pack, it'll be by the Alpha’s order or my decision to make, not yours.” I left her hair and straightened my dress as I stood up.

I turned to the door and froze when I saw people at the door staring behind Hawaii with their mouths open. Dammit. I bit my lower lip.

“Pussy!” Lily yelled behind me. I turned to her, and she was rushing towards me when she froze too on seeing the people standing.

Her nose was bleeding, making people murmur. Some people hid their smiles, while others looked sorry for her. I felt embarrassed at first, but she was the reason I lost my patience. I walked past them, paying attention to the route Hawaii and I took when we came.

Hawaii ran after me. “Goodness, you were born to be Luna.”

“I don't know about that. I just don't like it when people mess with me.”

“Come.” Hawaii took me back to the gaming room. My eyes dimmed as we entered the room, which had a blue LED strip of lighting and blackout curtains. I looked around. “There's no one here.” The huge space with several video game consoles was empty.

“There’s a secret room.” She smiled and whispered as if it were a secret.

As we approached one of the blackout curtains, the curtain shoved sideways. I looked around with a frown to see who was remotely controlling it.

“It was programmed to shift when it senses a person approaching. Not everybody, though, just the leaders of the pack.”

Wow, I was truly stunned. A black door to the secret door opened, and my mouth opened wide as we went in. Hawaii plunged in with a widened eye. “How did this happen?”

Niel shrugged. A video of Lily and me fighting played on the multiple screens on the wall. I could feel the tension in the room as I looked around.

“Can you delete it?” Joey rested on his twin brother's seat. Jack typed on the keyboard adjacent to the screens.

“I don't know how far it has spread in the pack.” Jack looked at Logan, who stood beside them.

“Do what you can.” Logan patted Jack’s shoulder and stared at me.

“Yes Alpha.” Jack responded.

“Let’s go.” Logan walked out of the room. What now?

My legs stiffened for a while before I followed him. He wasn’t looking angry, but he could be hiding it because of the pack members.

“I’m sorry.” I was loathing myself for the situation that he was in because of me.

I used to have no regrets whenever I did things like that at the Phoenix Pack, but I was feeling different. I was happy to show Pinkie her place, but I didn’t think about how it might affect Logan and the pack.

“Didn’t you think about that before the fight?”

“I’m sorry.” I repeated it again.

“You did nothing wrong.”

What? Was I worried for nothing, or was he playing his tactful Alpha games on me?

We went to the fifth floor, where his bedroom was. Young maids waited outside the master bedroom with a much older maid; she would be in her late forties. I frowned, wondering what they were doing there.

“They are your handmaids. They’ll introduce themselves later.” Logan said it as if he read my thoughts.

We entered the yellow-painted master bedroom. I was taking my time enjoying the exquisite interior decoration and arrangement of the room when I wondered what I was doing in the room. “Why did you bring me here?”

He removed his shirt, and I could swear that my breath ceased at the sight of his muscular arms and bare skin.

I clutched to the edge of my cloth and looked away as I tried to keep my body in control. Shay was pacing inside me. He was so damn hot. I wanted him as much as Shay did. I had seen a lot of bare muscular skin in the Phoenix Pack, but none of them turned me on like this before.

“It’s our room."

Did he said ‘our room?'

“What about the room where I woke up? I’ll be comfortable there.”

“Stop asking questions. I love my privacy, but you’re my Luna; I can’t help it.”

He turned to me, shirtless, and my breath heaved heavily. He strolled towards me, and I shivered with an inconsistent breath. My body wanted him. He was my mate. He belonged to me. But he tried to reject me. Will he want me in his bed? I imagined my hands on his broad chest. He was so close to me. What do I do?

He leaned forward toward me, and his breath warmed my skin. He was probably feeling my noisy breath on his skin too. My heart pounded fast in my chest. I stared into his eyes, and he stared back right at me. Our eyes locked.

He placed his hand on my waist and caressed it till he gently grabbed and caressed my ass. I shut my eyes and released a soft moan. His nose stroked my face, and he began to slip his hands and crawl his fingers underneath my shirt.
