Rhys’s POV

I was restless after Duncan left. I wondered how he was going to handle the whole training, so I stood up and decided to go to the field.

I finished my whiskey and replaced the bottle in the rack. I collected my coat from the hanger and left for the training field.

I passed by the garden and was impressed with the progress.

For years it had not been tended to and she had made it glow again in just a morning.

“Too impressive for her own good” I muttered under my breath.

‘You won’t know when you would fall in love with her.’ Black teased me.

‘Oh please, I very much know what I am doing.’ I responded defensively.

‘Keep saying it to yourself, maybe it would stop it from happening’ he insisted and I chuckled.

‘For all I know she killed her sister. Not just her sister, my potential bride, I was in love with her!’ I pointed out as I made the turn that brought me to the door of the training ground.
