“You’re creepy,” I pointed out at the man smiling at me.
We’re currently in a Korean restaurant, eating. When we woke up earlier it was already passed the time for dinner and so we just decided to eat outside. “I love you,” he said once again before putting a handful of food on a spoon in his mouth. I bit my lower lip as I averted my gaze. Damn, he’s suddenly being so sweet. The moment we woke up earlier, he wouldn’t stop saying those words anymore. It’s even funny if you think of this way. When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately rushed towards my friend’s room. I saw her at the far corner of the room, staring blankly into space while auntie was there, caressing her hair gently.Cassandra’s mom looked at me when she noticed my presence. A bitter smile formed into her lips before tapping on her daughter’s shoulder.“My child, Ayesha’s here.”Her face slowly turned to look at me as I made my way to sit by her side. I was sipping my coffee when Daevon entered my office. He seems to be serious but at the same time afraid of looking at me. I continued to look at him with an expressionless face as I greeted his eyes. It’s been three weeks since Cassandra left and I must say I miss her. I sighed to myself while looking at the papers in front of me. It isn’t really hard to manage the things in her company since her secretary was helping me plus there’s Auntie always there to assist me and of course, husband who didn’t leave me alone. It’s a good thing that my parents also allowed me to work here and labeled it as an experience for this sort of field. Well, in fact, they’re quite enthusiastic when they found out I’m working.I might say that I’ve been happy for the past few weeks that came by despite having some mixed emotions with my friend leaving. It’s been three days since we last saw each other and it was at that time when we had adobo for dinner. An emergency occurred in France and Daevon had no choice but to book an immediate flight towards there; concerning one of their factories.I was busy encoding some works on my computer when my phone beeped. I checked to see who it was on the screen and the name that engulfed my view was none other than a man’s name.IvannSorry, it’s been a long time since I texted. I’ve been busy at my dad’s company but like I said, can we talk? Don’t worry, I mean no harm. I just want to give you something and maybe perhaps we can call it closure.I sighed to myself after finishing his message. If you think of it like this, Ivann was the most hurt out of the three of us so knowing that I can help, I’ll try to be as kind and understand as I can. I woke up when the countless banging sound and shouting voices echoed throughout the place.“Fuck you, Ivann! We talked clearly the last time and this is what you’re going to do?” a familiar voice shouted.Daevon?I slowly stood up from where I was lying and opened my eyes. In an instance from my vision blurring until it became clear, I widened my eyes in disbelief.What the hell is happening?I saw Daevon clenching his jaw, grasping hard on Ivann, raining him with a lot of his punches. I immediately stood up and was about to stop them when I noticed something wrong. My heart started racing, my lips turning blue. It feels like at any minute, I would collapse on the floor the moment I got out of the restaurant. There was no CCTV plus… they said the waiter isn’t there anymore.The managed said he resigned yesterday and was also the one who assisted us when we lost consciousness. It's been two weeks and I may say I’m barely living.I removed all of my connection in the Philippines. I need space.
