ALANA POV

As each minute passed, the world around me wouldn’t cease its relentless spin. The bitter sting of betrayal was cruel, making my heart pound in my chest like a war drum, echoing the desperation that consumed me. I clutched my trembling hands into fists as I stared at the monster standing before me with a satisfied look on his face.

“Klaus,” I implored, my voice quivering with a cocktail of fear and fury. “Spare my children. They bear no guilt.” Yet Klaus, his eyes ablaze with a cruel sense of satisfaction, remained steadfast.

He seemed to relish the torment he was on the verge of unleashing. “Your grudge is with me, not them. Regardless of how twisted your mind perceives this, their innocence is undeniable.”

He smirked, his lips curling into a small, mocking smile. "Innocent? Don't make me laugh. They're just as guilty as you are for carrying your tainted blood."
