Third person’s POV

Calan had begun sweating profusely and feeling nauseous when he arrived home, nonetheless, he had called Micheal to let him know that he had gotten home in one piece. He had headed to his room at once hoping he was quiet enough to not alert Mildred, however, the older woman soon came hurrying from the kitchen area wearing a worried expression.

“Is there a problem, Mildred?”. He asked first hoping to turn the tables on her.

“I should be asking you that”. Mildred said. “Why do you like this? And why did you stay out late? Are you feeling alright?”.

“I was with Micheal”. He said to her knowing she’d be less worried if she knew he had been with Micheal, the very responsible Micheal who wouldn’t let him do anything stupid.

Her gaze raked over him quickly, again and again and again, and she stepped forward and placed her palm on his clammy temple. He watched her eyes flood with worry and he let out a somewhat exasperated breath.
