Chapter 23: what the hell?

Judging from the girl’s reaction its not that easy to see him.

I looked at the man that told me that I could go upstairs.

He actually was looking at me in a strange way.

Like he is very good at hiding his emotions  but somehow cant hide this.

He seemed happy and surprised to see me.

It was If he wasn’t expecting me to pop up.

I just shrugged it off anyways, there could be a thousand reasons why he is acting this way.

Maybe he is surprised that some witch girl has the audacity to come and ask to see the Vampire King.

I went to the elevator and followed his instructions which led me to a two large doors .

I knocked and someone told me to come in.

The moment I took off my hoodie the two men In the room were looking at me like they saw a ghost.

They all looked at me before saying my name. I recognised one of them as the guy I met years ago.

I would go as far as to say that my first love, he was my first kiss by the way.

“you” I said looking at him and deciding that this is not  important.

He probably remembers my name because he is a vampire with great memory.

And as for the other guy he looks familiar but that doesn’t matter.

What I really want right now is to get all the answers to the questions of my life.

“you know my name. it doesn’t matter how or why. I am looking for the Vampire King, where is he?” I asked them.

This is where the guy told me to come but I don’t think the vampire king is here.

“I am the Vampire King; my name is Sebastian Thorne. I guess this century really is different isn’t it?” he said but I just stood there slapping myself in the face.

Did I just insult him to his face?

I mean how would I know that the guy I have met is the Vampire King?

This is the same guy who came to me that night was the vampire King.

Ohhh shit I kissed him, and that too without his consent.

So he probably hates me and wont give me the answers I want.

“Charlotte, do you remember me?” the other guy said to me.

He is cute as well, I looked at him and he seriously looked so familiar.

“it me Logan” he said and I tried to recall ever knowing a Logan but no luck.

As I was looking in his direction I noticed a painting.

It was as if I was looking in the mirror, I got closer and she looked exactly like me.

But the clothes and her hairstyle was a dead give away that this was taken centuries ago.

I would never wear my hair in such an elegant manner.

I honestly don’t have that time, sittting for so long to do your hair.

that’s not me, “I am guessing this is Scarlet. I understand why you mistook me for her. Its like looking in the mirror, and damn I am hot” I said.

I turned around and realised that the two men were following my every move.

“listen Logan, you obviously have things to say. You can say them once I find the answers I am looking for” I said and sat down.

I looked at the Vampire King, he has a smile all this time while looking at me.

“and what makes you think that I have the answers you are looking for?” he asked.

“because you are like ancient, so you might have heard something” I said and he just shrugged.

“go ahead and ask” he said and I nodded.

“the blood mark curse, what do you know about it? After I met you that night something happened, and now every supernatural being is after me. And not the good after, I am pretty sure that they want me dead” I explained.

Suddenly there was a loud growl in the room and my eyes landed on Logan.

Logan, the name also does ring a bell, I looked at him again.

“Logan, are you the guy I met on the rooftop years ago? Ohhh now it makes sense. It wasn’t about being heir was it? Its probably for an Alpha or beta position” I said.

But that doesn’t explain his growl after hearing me talk.

Ohhh damn, he growled when I was talking about me dying which means one thing.

“I am your mate arent I?” I asked him and he nodded.

Now that I think about it, there was a werewolf who was always looking for me apparently.

When we met on the rooftop it was a few minutes before his birthday.

This means that night he found out we were mates and has been running after me since then.

“its nice to see you again Logan. Can we talk after I get some answers?” I asked him and he nodded.

He seemed to still be processing the fact that the person he has been looking for just walked in.

I looked at the Vampire King.

“please, could you tell me what the blood mark is? Or anything you might know about it” I said and he nodded.

“and yes I came with this, it’s a poem and I think is somehow related to the blood mark but I am not sure” I said handing him the paper.

It went back to it original owner in the end, I stole that from his library and he still got it.

He read it but seemed to only understand bit and bits of it.

“a long time ago there was a girl named Scarlet. A witch so powerful she was feared by most and respected. She was the daughter of a powerful witch. Her mother had plans for her, plans that Scarlet wanted nothing to do with” he explained.

It is written in the poem so i understood that much.

“she fell in love with someone she shouldn't have. A vampire, a young vampire Prince, this angered her mother and she was cursed and then killed” he finished up the story.

“sorry she was cursed because she fell in love with someone? But what does she have to do with me?” I asked him.

He looked at the painting of the girl that looks exactly like me.

in our first encounter he called me Scarlet. there was longing in his eyes and he spoke about how he has been looking for her for years. 

i look exactly like her and i have the curse that she was given. 

“you are her, you are the reincarnation of Scarlet. You just don’t remember but with time you will. You are the reincarnation of the love of my life” he finished off by saying.

I looked around me trying to process what I am hearing right now. '

“so if I am getting this straight, you are telling me that I am the reincarnation of the love of your life? The girl you have been looking for all those years? And you Logan are telling me that I am your mate?” I asked them.

What the hell is going on right now?
