Chapter 28: stalkish

Logan’s pov

“I followed her like you said in the mind link, she is definitely very good at running.

It was hard for me to finally get to her” Dean my friend said.

“thank you” I said as I looked at the photo he took of my mate entering a restaurant.

“what happened? How did you find her so easily?” he asked me, and I just smiled.

“she found me actually, and there is more to this than that” I said, and he looked at me.

“the girl she stays with owns the restaurant, its like your mate doesn’t exist” he then added.

“I guess I was right to suspect that she is on the run. I couldn’t ask the Vampire King the entire story, but I will find it” I said, and he nodded.

“what’s the plan? You said that she wanted nothing to do with you” he said, and I just shrugged.

“get closer to her, she is a witch, so the mate bond doesn’t have that much pull on her. I need to form some kind of a bond for it to” I replied.

“but what if she runs off again? She has been on the run for so long for whatever reason” he said, and I know he has a lot of questions.

Honestly I also have a lot of questions, but I didn’t get the answers.

“she is looking for a waiter though, you could be one to get closer to her” Dean suggested.

“she won’t hire me; she will probably hire anyone that isn’t me” I said, and he nodded.

Unless no one else shows up, from what Dean told me she really needs the extra hands.

Her restaurant has been so busy that they need extra people to work there.

“make sure you pay off everyone so they don’t go to the interview, she will have no choice but to hire me” I said, and he smiled.

“that isn’t stalkish behaviour at all” he said and then walked out while I just sat there.

I admit it a little stalkish behaviour, but I don’t see myself with much of a choice.

She shut me out before even giving me a chance.

We got ready and Dean was true to his word and paid off anyone who had a job interview with them.

None of them ended up going because we paid them off and now I will do this job that pays minimum wage just to get closer to my mate.

The things we do for love, I dressed a little casually for my job interview.

“good afternoon, I am Logan, and I am here for the waiter interview” I said to the girl with red hair.

She looked at me and frowned,

“are you sure? You don’t look like someone who could be a waiter” she said, and I shrugged.

“I have been disowned, so to teach me a lesson I need to live like a normal person. so please I need this job” I said, and she nodded.

“you are hired, not that I have a choice because you are the only person that showed. Lets sign the contract right away” she said, and I nodded.

I then signed the contract;

I am guessing that my mate isn’t here and left everything to the little girl.

“come on, can you start now? I will introduce you to everyone” she said, and I nodded as she introduced me to everyone.

“I wanted to give you washing dishes, but you have big muscles and a handsome face. You would be wasted washing dishes” she said bluntly.

“this is your apron, please don’t fuck things up. I don’t have time to clean up your mess” she said and then went to the office.

“these girls are awfully blunt, but they are really kind if you ask me” the chef said with a smile.

“yes, they are very reasonable and at times I think very weird. But you will get used to them” the waitress said.

“she isn’t wrong, you are handsome” another waitress said looking at me with a smile.

“are you taken?” she asked again, and I nodded.

“yes, there is someone who has stolen my heart. It belongs to her completely” I said, and she looked at me and frowned. “

the good ones are always taken” she said and then walked off.

I started my job hoping that my mate would show up, but she didn’t at all, not even once.

I guess I should happy that she wasn’t here because I got hired for that reason.

I don’t think she would have hired me; she would have just done the work herself.

She strikes me as someone who is really stubborn and don’t want people’s help.

Its hard to help such people, because they will push you away.

The job wasn’t terrible, being a werewolf helped with the whole standing and walking around.

The next day I woke up early in the morning and got ready for my shift.

“I never thought I would see this day. An Alpha Prince working as a waiter, you will have a beautiful love story to tell your kids” Dean said.

“I need to help her first, but yes, our love story will be written in the history books” I said which made his smile.

“I need to get going, I will be back to see how you doing after some time. I can’t just leave my mate for so long” Dean explained.

“go ahead, I will deal with everything here on my end” I said to him and walked him to his car.

Dean is truly a great friend; I know he wont tell anyone anything.

I know that my secret is safe with him no matter what.

We grew up together, fought side by side and I trust him with my life.

That is why I can confidently tell him everything about my mate because I know my family won’t find out.

If my father or brother find out that somehow that girl is entangled with the Vampire King then things might be a little complicated.

My brother would try his best to get to my mate and somehow use her against the Vampire King.

Especially if he knew that he has been looking for her for centuries and how much she obviously means to him.

Obviously also to keep me in check, if rumours came out that my mate is a wanted criminal things wouldn’t be good for me.

I know she is not a wanted criminal, but my brother would make it look like that.

He is my brother and I know him better than anyone, his desires will always come first.

My father fears the Vampire King and would order me to give up on my mate so not to upset him.

It wouldn’t be a big deal since I can get a second chance mate which is what I don’t want.

I want Charlotte, the girl I met on that rooftop that fateful night.

I hope that today I get to see her no matter what.

How will she react when she sees me?
