chapter 25: my Scarlet

Sebastian’s pov

I could tell that she was having a hard time understanding me.

But something caught my attention about the way she is.

She really is my Scarlet, and it feels like I starting from the ground up.

When I first met Scarlet many centuries ago she was like this.

She was so focused;

she didn’t want anything to get in her way but things changed.

She was hellbent on marrying some idiot and securing her place in the coven, but we fell in love.

When we did her priorities and dreams change and that’s how it is.

Sometimes when you meet someone you love your priorities and goals change.

I made her see that she doesn’t need to marry that idiot to become what she wants to be.

Back then she fell in love with me all on her own.

I will just have to make her fall in love with me again.

It’s a little funny isn’t it?

I am preparing my heart for heartbreak again.

Without knowing it or even realising it she broke my heart for centuries.

Each century she would break my heart and here I am prepared to give it to her again so she can break it all over again.

I don’t know about Logan or what will happen with him and her, but she is mine.

Scarlet has always been mine, but I will respect him enough to let him try anything.

There is reason Scarlet’s mother did what she did.

She didn’t want us to be together, hell she made sure that even if she is born again we cant be together.

this means that even she knows that we are connected on a whole other level.

We might not be mates, but Scarlet and I are soulmates.

So, I will let things play out and Scarlet is her own person.

she can make her own decisions and I should respect that.

Logan was still looking at me wondering why I am even blocking him.

When she had closed the door behind her I explained.

“it took your 8 years to find her, I have been looking for her myself.

If you push too hard she will run off, she is very good at hiding, and we might never find her again” I explained, and he nodded.

I guess judging from his expression he is telling the truth when he calls her his mate.

Something about this century is different, she found me instead of me looking around for her.

She is very good at hiding and what I saw is that she is intelligent and think on the spot.

I guess all those years of being on the run made her smarter.

She obviously has to be smart to be able to live on the run for so many years without being caught.

Not only that but she seemed to see right through Logan and in a matter of seconds realised they were mates.

She looked around and observed people’s behaviour and that’s different kind of smart.

It allows you to know your enemy and who you can trust and who can’t trusted.

“I understand everything she said but I still want to be with her” Logan said to him.

“and then what? You are an Alpha Prince; it will be easier for them to find her with you tagging along” I explained, and he finally saw things Scarlet’s way. 

The difference between me and him is that I can afford to protect her.

I have so many resources and money that could help us in the meantime.

And the witches wouldn’t try anything stupid when I am around.

They will tread carefully and when they are coming up a plan we also do.

We look for a way to break the blood mark and my Scarlet will come back to me.

First if I stay here for absolutely no reason they will start suspecting something.

I have never stayed here for a long time and I got a lot of eyes on me.

I hardly attend these shindigs and I usually prefers places that are quiet.

If my enemies see me staying here for absolutely no reason then they will figure things out.

And then again Charlotte will be in danger and that’s the last thing I want in this situation.

I need to find a way to stay around her, an excuse to be around her and we can met up once in a while.

Something that wont bring much attention to her until she agrees to let me protect her.

Or until she finally falls in love with me again.

“you are just going to let her go? This is the woman you have been looking for” Logan said and I looked at him.

Does he realise that we are in love with the same woman?

So technically I am his competition and he also mine.

The mate bond can be really annoying, and it will give him the edge in everything.

The universe really doesn’t like me right?

how can Scarlet have a mate?

She didn’t have one back then so why now all of a sudden?

The big question I have to ask myself is if he will be of help or he will be an obstacle in our way.

“yes she is, but she is also a very smart woman who has been on the run for years.

One small mistake could send her running again and we will never find her next time.

The only reason we could find her now is because she came to me.

Otherwise we wouldn’t have, trust me, I have turned this world up and down looking for her” I replied.

He then nodded but also seemed to be thinking of a way to find her.

I don’t have to worry because I know that Mark followed her.

I need to find a way to come into her life without spooking her off or anything like that.

The way she made her decisions then and there is exactly what my Scarlet used to do.
