Micah Pov

The next day was a public holiday. It meant school was closed down. No lectures. No fucking teachers. I woke up later than usual and ran for at least an hour on the treadmill. After that, I made myself a sandwich in the kitchen. Nathan was running an errand for father. He came into the house, just as I was polishing off the last of my sandwich.

“Hey buddy,” he offered me a small wave.

“Yo,” I gave him a small nod.

“Your dad called. He wants me to get a file from his office. It’ll only be for a minute and then, I’ll be out of your hair.”

“Knock yourself out.”

“So, no school today huh?”

“Nope.”

“And how are you holding up with your parents gone?”

“Good.”

Nathan nodded like I had given him a profound answer. He was uncomfortable. I could tell he didn’t know what else to do with me. I decided to put him out of his misery.

“Go ahead man. I’ll be out of here soon anyway.”

“Oh. You got plans?”

“Nothing much. Just going to see my girlfriend. It’s been a while since we fucked.”
