Chapter 20

Micah's Pov

(Days later)

*I replayed Maya’s rejection in my dreams. She was livid with hurt and anger. She took one look at the calla lilies in my hand and turned her back on them. She turned her back on me. I could see her wolf yearning to return back to me, but her human form pushed her steps farther and farther away from me.

Daniel appeared out of thin air. He was clutching a bunch of calla lilies, similar to the ones I had bought. Maya smiled at the sight of the flowers. She accepted it and gazed up at him adoringly. Like he hung the freaking moon.

Daniel leaned in and kissed her hungrily on the lips. Immediately, she opened up to him, receiving his kiss. I wanted to run away from such an agonizing scene but I realized that I couldn’t. I looked down at my feet. They were stuck in a pool of liquid cement. I tried to move but I couldn’t. I tried again to no avail. It was torture watching the both of them carrying on all hot and heavy.*

I woke up from my dream drenched in sweat.
