MATILDA'S POV

I sat still on the table after I watched him leave angrily together with his right-hand man.

For the first few moments, I was confused and scared at the same time. Why would he just walk out on me like that after staring at me without even saying anything to me?

I was relieved that whatever he must have heard that got him upset was not about me after all, even though I still wondered why he had stared at me. If it was about me, he would have accosted me, right?

I picked up my spoon and continued eating, this time around more comfortably because I was aware that he was not there, and he was not watching me eat.

At least there was no pair of fierce blue eyes looking at me from across the table.

I ate comfortably and devoured the food like the hungry person that I was, I did not care about the maids who were watching me. I was sure that they would have known that he was the reason I had refused to eat all along.
