Annabelle's POV

My conscience judged me several times, many nights, that I barely slept without dreaming about Laura dying in a pool of blood and telling me it was my fault. I had set time to meet with her when somehow I dozed off due to my lack of sleep for the past few days.

I woke up in a daze, my mind foggy and my body heavy. I quickly checked my phone and saw that I had slept for two hours longer than I intended. Panic shot through me as I realized that I was supposed to meet Laura an hour ago to warn her about Clara and Dominique.

I was planning to confess every other thing to her and let her know I was part of the reasons their lives was in danger.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. It was Laura. "Hey, Annabelle, where are you? You should be here by now." she said.

"Uh, yeah, I'm almost there," I lied. "I just got a little held up."

“Are you okay?" She sounded worried.

“Oh, yes. I'm okay, I'm okay. Don't worry." I replied her, assuringly.
