Chapter twenty one

Karis was driving her to his apartment. It was nothing romantic or raunchy, like to horny people going to have their fill of each other in a luxury apartment. No, it had more to do with the fact that she was homeless and penniless, and Karis's charitable nature, still she wondered....

She was Emeka's sister - at least in name, and she did not believe in luck. Everything happened for a reason, and it had nothing to do with fate. In a world of dog eat dog, you had to feed on another dog to get stronger, to stay from getting eaten. Peter wanted something, that was why he was doing all he did, and she was going to make sure she found out exactly what that was.

She pushed thoughts of her gratitude aside, along with the guilt she felt for thinking bad about the man she cared deeply for, the man who was now taking care of her even though he thought she had aborted his kid.

Karis was obviously not a monster like her brother, but then she had trusted her brother -- look where that left her
