Christina’s POV

Aunt Eunice’s eyes met mine and I saw the knowing look in them and it made me bow my head in mortification as my gaze fell to the floor. My heart was still palpitating wildly and I was still heaving from what had almost happened.

He was so close, I could smell his minty breath and the scent of his cologne dominated my nostrils. Somehow, it soothed me and my gaze was fixed on his intense icy orbs as though I was in a trance and I couldn’t bear to look away from him.
