Chapter 020

Christina’s POV

The smug expression on his face infuriated me. I knew he was right but it wasn’t my intention to lie to his aunt. It was all his doing, hence, it should be his problem, not mine. He pulled me into his room in the guise of dressing my wound. My gaze darted around in search of the first aid box that he intended to use and I found it, sitting on the sofa.

Hurriedly, I rushed to it and grabbed the box. He stared at me in question, with no clue as to what I was getting at but then I walked to the door and smiled.

“You’re the one who engineered the lie, so it’s a ‘you’ problem,” with a triumphant smile on my face, I sauntered out of his room down the hallway into mine. I glanced at him from my doorstep, to see he was staring at me, an unreadable expression etched on my face but it only widened my smile at my little victory. I got into my bedroom and closed the door as silently as I could so as not to alert Aunt Eunice to my presence.
