Christina’s POV

My heart skipped. He was serious. He was playing into the silly fantasy I revealed to his aunt. I stared at his text, with no words to respond. I swallowed and my eyes darted to see Aunt Eunice impatiently waiting for me to fill her in.

“He wants to take me on a date,”

“That’s lovely, honey. You should be excited!”

I feigned a smile but my insides were a mess. Was he purposely messing with me?

“Come on, honey. We’ve got a date to prepare for. I need to take you to the best salon in town to get your hair fixed. He needs to be blown away when he sees you,” She winked at me as she giddily rose to her feet and reached for my arm.
