“Abigail!” I heard an annoying voice yell, making me frown as I stirred in my sleep, not bothering to wake up. “Abby!”

I groaned and put my pillow around my ears to block out the voice.

That seemed to be futile because the next minute, a figure was jumping on me. “What the hell, Maya?” I sighed, my eyes fluttering open. “It’s the weekend. Why won’t you let me sleep?”

“Because you’re scaring me. You’ve been asleep for fifteen hours and you’re not showing any signs of waking up.”

“Just let me sleep some more.”

“No.” She ripped the covers from me. “Do you realize you’re still in your work clothes? You came back by seven, didn’t bother to have dinner, and crashed on the couch. It’s past ten in the morning. Wake up and eat. I made breakfast.”

“Leave me alone, Maya. I’ll eat later.”

I wasn’t surprised that I had slept for fifteen hours and wanted to sleep some more. I wanted twenty-four hours of sleep. When George told me I was going to be busy for the next month, I didn’
