Chapter Four

Conri…

The next morning Conri felt like he did not sleep at all. He was tossing and turning so much during the night, and she haunted his dreams. He could not stop thinking about her at all… Her body, her hands, her smell… He sat up straight and rubbed his neck. He was glad to see that he was alone in his bed. He took his phone and send a text to Lisa, his sister, making sure she knew they were coming today. He got up and walked over to the shower. He is going to have to clear his head, he has a few important business things coming up. He got into the shower and just stood there, letting the warm water flow over his body. He finished up and got out. He had to get ready for the flight. He packed an overnight bag and went downstairs.

Marcus was already waiting for him, all packed.

“Morning Alpha” Marcus said as soon as he saw Conri.

“Morning.” Conri did not feel much like talking yet.

“You look like you haven’t slept.”

“I didn’t get much sleep.” Conri poured himself a cup of coffee and dished up a big plate of breakfast.

“Everything ok?” Marcus asked as he was taking a bite of his toast.

“Yeah, it’s that girl. I can’t stop thinking about her.” Conri closed his eyes as he yawned again. One thing that wolves need, as much as food, is some decent sleep…

“Oh, the one of yesterday. We can concentrate some more on her once we get back. Let’s just get all the business out of the way for now.”

“Yeah, I guess your right. Everything set?”

“Yes, jet all ready.”

“Ok, let’s go.”

Conri and Marcus took a short drive to the other side of the estate where there was a private airfield. The pilot and air hostess were already waiting and ready to go. They stopped the car and unloaded the suitcases. Marcus loaded them on the jet and they all boarded.

“Good morning, Mr Conri and Mr Marcus.” The airhostess greeted as they took their seats.

“Good morning, Raya.” Conri greeted.

They all took their seats and fastened their seatbelts. The jet took off and soon they were in the air, on their way to Canada, he needed to see his sister first.

Tala…

Tala woke up and did not feel like getting out of bed. She rolled onto her back and staired at the ceiling. Her stomach was growling, and she wanted some food. If it was not for the fact that she needed to eat, she would not get out up. She dragged her body out of bed and went to take a quick shower. As she got undressed, she heard that jet again. She has wondered every time she heard it, where it came from and who it was. There was not much going on around their camp and they were not near any airfields as far as she knew. How she wished she could be on that plan. Just going anywhere, away from here…

She opened the shower taps and got in. She stood there for quite some time, enjoying the water over her body, and closing her eyes. She would dream that she was anywhere but here… She finished up and got dressed. She went downstairs and her father and mother were waiting for her at the table.

“Come sit Tala.” Her father was using his Alpha voice and it already made her shiver.

“As I said before, you are to go to Hemming.”

“But father” Tala interrupted, and her father got up so quickly, it made her head spin, and she could feel the sting on her cheek. It burned and she could taste a faint trace of blood in her mouth. Her father slapped her…

“You will not interrupt me when I am talking! I am your Alpha” His voice rolled older her like thunder and all she could do was obey.

“As I said, you are to go to Hemming. You need to start preparing yourself and getting ready.”

“When?” Tala did not look up from the floor.

“The next full moon. In two weeks’, time.”

“So soon? What is the hurry?” Her mother took the chance and opened her mouth.

“That is none of your business. You need to help her prepare and make sure she is ready.” Her father did not have any emotion in his voice when he spoke to her mother, and it broke her heart. She was so used to men treating women this way and she did not want to believe that was all there was. The only thing that kept Tala going was the thought that she would get away from it all…

“Come sweetie, let’s make you something to eat.” Her mother got up and started making some breakfast. Her father also got up and walked out of the kitchen.

Tala felt relieved when he left.

“Mother, what am I going to do? You know I can’t go to Hemming!” Tala felt desperate and looking at her mother with tears in her eyes.

“Oh, my baby girl, we will make a plan. I am not sure what yet, but I will figure something out.”

Tala looked shocked; she could not believe what she was hearing. This was the first time ever that her mother made her feel hope. The first time ever that her mother said she would help her, knowing what will happen if her father found out.

“Thank you, mother,” Tala went over and hugged her mother. She started feeling hope again and knowing her mother would stand up for her.

They made breakfast together and had a few laughs like old times and Tala felt like she could go on again.

Just after they finished their breakfast, there was a knock on the kitchen door. It was Dolph.

“Morning.” Tala greeted him with a smile.

“Morning, morning Luna” Dolph greeted her mother.

“Morning Dolph. I will leave you two to it. I have some other things to do.” And with that her mother left the kitchen.

“We need to talk.” Dolph almost whispered

“Why are you whispering?” Tala smiled and looked interested.

“It’s about the other day, you know, something unexpected happened.” Dolph was trying to get Tala on the same page. He pulled some faces as he spoke, hoping she would understand.

“Oh, that thing. Yes, we can go and have a look again.” Tala immediately knew what he was talking about, and it would sound like nothing suspicious just for in case someone was listening.

“I will meet you there in half an hour.” Dolph whispered again and then he left.

Tala quickly cleaned up the kitchen and wondered what Dolph could find out. She was truly interested in the man she met yesterday and should like to know as much about him as possible. Even if nothing will ever happen, she could still fantasize… She smiled to herself as he drank her last sip of coffee.

She went upstairs to put on her running shoes and was ready for some fresh air.

She went for her usual morning run and took a detour to meet Dolph again behind the old warehouse.

“Hey.” Tala greeted as she stopped running and stretching her legs.

“Hey, I tried to find out as much as I could from the way you described the two men you saw yesterday. And you will never believe who they are!”

“WHO? Dolph, who?!” Tala was getting impatient as Dolph always like to build up some suspense.

“It was the Alpha and his Beta from the Blue Moon Pack…”

“Wait, are you sure?” Tala felt it hard to believe him.

“Yes, I am sure!”

“But I don’t understand what they were doing in our territory. And even more, I have only heard rumours of that Alpha and his pack, and it always seemed too good to be true.” Tala’s mind started wondering back to when he was standing right in front of her. She could see why everyone always talked about how tall he is, amongst other things…

“Tala, do you know what this means?” Dolph shook her to get her attention as she was staring out into space, very deep in thought.

“No, what does this mean? It does not mean anything Dolph. It might be that they were lost or something.”

“Oh, come on Tala! You can’t be that naïve. If that Alpha was here, it was for a reason…!”

“And what would that reason be, huh?” Tala was starting to get a little irritated with Dolph.

“I don’t know, but we are going to find out.”

“And how are you planning to do that? Please Dolph, this is starting to feel a bit ridiculous.”

‘No, it’s not Tala. I have a feeling about this. I need to find out why they were here.”

“Come on, your mind is chasing something that might not be anything. He is an Alpha, and one of the most powerful, so why would he bother with anything about our small little pack? And even a pack that is well known for their brutality. No rogues even want to join my father’s pack. That is how little everyone thinks of us. So Dolph, please, just let it go.”

“Come on, you promised you were going to teach me to fight.”

“Ok, but just give me a second.” Dolph has come prepared, and he knew it was like finding a needle in a haystack, but he just had to take the chance. He decided to leave them a note for in case they might come back again. That is the only way he would ever be able to make contact.

“What are you doing?” Tala asked as she saw him putting something behind the fallen down building.

“Just a little note.”

“A little what? What are you doing Dolph!”

“I have to know, and I am willing to take that chance Tala.”

“You are crazy you know that, and I am telling you, this is all nothing. You are leaving that note, and nothing is going to happen to it. They are not going to come back.”

“Come on, let’s get on with the training. Before Hemming feels like surprising us again…”

Dolph and Tala started with their training session and with everything new she learned, she felt her self-confidence growing… Dolph was a good trainer, and he was one of the few fighters their pack had.

They finished up, with no interruptions and Tala felt good. After what her mother said this morning and her training session, she felt like things might just be starting to look up a little.

She told Dolph to go back to camp so long, she first wanted to shift and have a long decent run.

Conri…

He must have fallen asleep during the flight because he felt himself being shaken gently and it was Raya who was trying to wake him.

“We are ready to land sir, please fasten your seatbelt.” She said softly.

“Oh, ok. I must have drifted off.’ Conri sat up a bit more and fastened his seatbelt. He looked over to where Marcus was sitting, closing some files.

“You were working?”

“I was just double checking a few things, making sure everything was ready for the meeting later today.”

“Thank you, Marcus, I could not have asked for a better second.”

“I am glad you got some rest. You ready to see Lisa?”

“Yes, I texted her this morning, making sure she remembered that we were coming.”

“Ok great. If everything goes according to plan, we should be able to warp the business deal up by close of business tomorrow and then head back home.”

“Yes, let’s hope it all goes smoothly.” Conri was putting an offer on the table for another oil company that was struggling. He has already expanded to quite a few countries and his build his company from the ground up to a multi-billion-dollar company. His hard work pays off, it was a tall order, making a living in the real world and having his wolf side. But through everything, it just made him stronger…

As the jet set down wheels, he could not wait to see Lisa. It has been a few months and he needed to know she was ok. As they came to a stop, Conri unfastened his seat belt and was ready to get out. As the doors opened, he saw Lisa standing in the distance. He felt relieved and started walking over to her.

“Hi big brother.” Lisa greeted him and threw her arms around him; He always enjoyed her hugs as she was the only real family he had left.

“Hey, I am glad to see you are ok. I don’t hear from you as often as I would like.”

“Hi Lisa.” Marcus was coming up behind them.

“Marcus!” Lisa gave him also a big hug. She as a very soft spot for Marcus, because she knew he would always look after her brother.

“Come on, I have the day off, so I have already booked us for a late brunch. And we can catch up.”

They loaded the suitcases in Lisa’s car and were heading for the restaurant, making some small talk.

Conri was very deep in thought, as he was still thinking about HER…

“Hey, earth to Conri…” Lisa broke through his thoughts.

‘We are here, no let’s go eat and you can tell me all about her.” Lisa said with a knowing smile.

“Talk about who?” Conri asked, looking are her with innocent eyes.

They all made their way to the restaurant and took a quite table in the corner. They ordered a few plates of everything as food will never go to waste between wolves.

“Now, brother, tell me more.” Lisa said taking a big of her burger.

“We don’t know much, yet.” Conri frowned as he looked at his sister, hearing is own words.

“We followed her scent the one day, Conri saw her, but that is as far as we got. She is with one of the packs in our area.”

“When you say, ‘worst packs’, what’s wrong with that pack?”

“They are very well known for their brutality and no manners, to say the least. Their Alpha is also not a very good man. We have heard how they treat the women.” Marcus just shook his head when he thought back what the rumours were.

"That is not good. So, what are you planning on doing?”

“I am not sure, maybe you can come home and join my pack, and help me.” Conri said, winking at his sister.

“Now that you mention it, I have been thinking a lot the last few weeks. I want to be part of a pack, being a rogue is getting boring.”

“So, what is stopping you?” Conri asked his siter, being very serious.

“Give me time to think.” Lisa smiled and took another burger.

They had a nice lunch and made some more small talk. Lisa dropped them off by the car hire place and they went their separate ways, promising to keep more in touch.

Conri and Marcus had their first business meeting in half an hour and started driving to the site.

Conri had more to think about now, he would really like it if his sister came to join him. And then there was still HER… He just could not stop thinking about her. Conri shook his head as if he wanted to clear his thoughts for the meeting.

They stopped in a parking in front of the site and went upstairs to the boardroom. This was one of the companies that Conri was after for almost 8 months. Closing the deal will mean adding a few zeros to his empire.

The meeting went quick, as he did not have many patients when it came to business, and they almost immediately accepted his offer to purchase. The deal was done and Conri felt victorious, the day went well.

They packed up and left for the hotel where him and Marcus was going to spend the night. They have another meeting tomorrow morning early and after that Conri wants to get back as soon as possible, he felt this urge to see her again, he needed to see her again, and soon…

They got settled for the night and Conri ordered some room service, he did not feel like a lot of people and his mind was only on one place. He ate, watching nothing in particular on tv and went to shower. He undressed and opened the taps, letting the hot water run over his muscles. He stood there for a while and his mind drifted to her body… He could almost taste her, her smell, he just wanted to feel her, undress her and have her all to himself. He felt himself getting hard just thinking about her and he smiled a wicked smile. She will be his, no matter what!

That night again Conri tossed and turned, not getting enough rest, it was almost like she haunted his dreams. He got up early and took a shower and getting dressed for the meeting. Everything had to happen quickly as he was in a hurry to get home.

He met Marcus for an early breakfast, and they discussed the second meeting. Marcus was going to take the lead as it was just a surprise visit and one of Conri’s companies. Just making sure everything was still running smoothly.

“It doesn’t look like you got much sleep last night either.” Marcus said as he started the rental vehicle and drove to the meeting.

“I didn’t.” Conri gave a short answer, looking out the window.

“Ok, you don’t seem to be in the mood for talking much.”

“I’m not, I want to get home.”

“Ok, I will keep the meeting short, we will be on our way home before 10:00”

“Thank you,” was all that Conri answered.

The meeting went quickly, as Marcus promised, and they were all packed and ready to fly by 10:00.

Conri felt a excitement growing inside him, knowing he was heading back home. But then it dawned on him, he has absolutely no plan. He does not know how and where he will be able to see her again. He felt the frustration growing inside him and he felt restless.

“Relax Alpha.” Marcus said in his Beta voice, all business aside now.

“I can’t, I need to see her.”

“And you will.”

The flight home felt like it took forever. Eventually they started descending and Conri could not wait to get out.

“Meet me in half an hour Marcus, we are going for a run…” Was all that Conri said before he got off the jet.

“Yes Alpha.” Marcus knew better than to argue with Conri once he was in a mood.

Conri just went to undress and started heading towards the tree lines. He started to get very impatient when Marcus was a little bit late.

Conri already shifted and just snarled at Marcus when he arrived. Marcus did not argue nor said anything, he just undressed and started shifting.

Conri run as fast as he could to the border line, something was chasing him. SHE was chasing him. When they got to the border line, Conri shifted back and got dressed. He did not wait or Marcus and started walking quietly in the direction where he saw her last. Marcus had to hurry up and catch up to him. They walked in silence, each very deep in their own thoughts. When they came to the old warehouse again, Conri made sure they stayed out of sight. As they got closer, something caught his eye. A little piece of paper, pinned to the side of the broken-down wall.

It read the following:

Good day Alpha Conri,

I am not sure what your business is being on our territory, but please note that I am on your side. I will not tell anyone, nor will I ever be anything like the pack that I was born in.

Please, if I can have a moment of your time. Then you can maybe explain why you are here.

I will do my best to be here, tonight at midnight.

Please meet us.

Thank you

Conri folded the piece of paper and put it in his pocket. He was not sure if this was a trap, or what this was all about. He took a moment and smelled the air; her faint scent lingered in the air. It calmed him down, knowing that she was here.

He gave Marcus the signal that they will be heading back, and he will talk to his Beta when they are back home.

When they got back on their own territory, Marcus followed Conri to his office.

“We need to talk. I found a note, but I am not sure how to handle it.” Conri took the note and handed it over to Marcus.

Marcus read it and took his time answering.

“I know you might not want to hear this but what if it’s a trap?”

“Then what do you suggest? I need to get to know her, I need to see her again. And at this stage, he is my only lead.”

“If this is a trap, we won’t be able to defend ourselves. You know what that pack is like. I would say, let’s take a few of our best pack members. Strongest in battle. After what happened last, I am sure you do not want to get kidnapped again.”

“Yes, definitely not. Then it’s settled. You decide who you want to take with, and we all meet tonight at eleven at the tree line.”

“Ok, then that is settled.”

You may want to proof read this chapter particularly as it has a number of grammar/spelling mistakes which detracts from your story. It’s a good read so I’d hate to see folks stop reading because of it
