Chapter Twenty-Six

Tala…

As Tala laid in the bed, staring up at the ceiling, she realized she never phoned Conri… She did not plan on going down now, as things were feeling weird when it came to Alex. He was avoiding her, and she was not sure why. She turned to lay on her side, but sleep did not come easy. She tossed and turned and eventually fell asleep.

The next morning, she was awake very early, and she got dressed quickly. She almost ran downstairs, hoping to see Linda and Alex.

Alex was standing in the kitchen, busy making himself some coffee, and he jumped when Tala said morning.

“Oh, morning. I did not think you would be awake so early…” He did not really want to look her in the eyes.

“I was hoping to catch you before you go out. Did I do something wrong?”

Alex turned to look at her, with an intense look. Tala started to feel uncomfortable as she did know what to expect from him.
