Chapter thirty seven

Mia's pov

The sun had started setting but the coven was as lively as they had been when the celebrations started. I couldn't even fault them, they haven't had a true priestess in a long time and now they do. They have me.

"You seem up to the challenge" Violet said, seeming quite relaxed. "I am, I truly feel ready for this" I said, taking in a deep breath. I've never felt more ready for anything in my life and even though I have no clue what I'm doing, I know I'd rather die than fail these people.

I looked over the happy faces of my coven, their joy warming my heart. "They feel like home" Violet said with a sigh, not sure whether it was a sad one or not.

"I know" I admitted, though the thought felt wrong but I couldn't deny it, they did feel like home. Like I finally belonged and I didn't have to go the extra mile to just fit in or gain their favour. I wasn't pressured into anything I didn't want back at the pack but I always felt like the odd one out.
