Aliza's Point of View
When we made it back to the Packhouse, Catherine, Josh, and My dad were already outside waiting for us outside by the front door. My mom and I got out and walked up the stairs to where they were standing. We all greeted each other, walked into the packhouse, and made our way to the elevator to get to the Alpha Floor.
On our way to the elevator, I saw Kayla walking with some of the maids.
"Kayla, you have no idea how happy I am to see you," I screamed and hugged her. I couldn't stop thinking about the last time I had seen her. She had sacrificed herself so that I could get away. I could tell Kayla was shocked by how tense she was.
"Um, hello," Kayla said, still tense.
"Do you two know each other?" Catherine asked
"No, I have never seen her before in my life," Kayla said
"No, I just overheard some of your pack members saying nice things about her. I thought we could be friends," I lied.
"Oh, okay. We should go and leave Kayla to do what she was doing," Catherine said
"Okay," I replied. We got into the elevator and went to the Alpha suite. Once we were inside, we went to the dining room, where a lot of food was on the table. I instantly knew that Ms. Smith was the one that made the food. Catherine wasn't the best cook. In fact, her food sucked.
"Let's all have a seat," My dad said. My mom and I sat on one side of the table while Josh, my dad, and Catherine sat on the other side.
"This food looks and smells amazing. You overdid yourself, Catherine," My mom said, causing Josh and my dad to laugh. It took a lot of control for me not to burst out laughing as well. "What's so funny?" My mom asked with a confused expression on her face.
"Nothing, it's just that mom doesn't know how to cook," Josh said, still laughing.
"Hey, I am not that bad," Catherine said
"Sure you're not," Josh said. My dad and Josh were still laughing until they noticed Catherine glaring at them. That caused them to stop laughing. My dad cleared his throat before he spoke.
"Ms. Smith made this. She is the one that does most of the cooking around here," My dad said
"Oh," My mom said.
"So, do you cook, Tina?" Catherine asked
"Yes, I do," My mom said
"My mom is an amazing cook. She actually was the top cook at a restaurant back home. Everyone loved her cooking," I said, smiling at my mom.
"Oh, sweetheart. You are overexaggerating," My mom said
"No, I am not, Mom. Your food is the best," I said
"I have to agree with Aliza. I remember your cooking, and it was always amazing," My dad said
"So she used to cook for you?" Catherine asked. I could tell by her voice that she was upset.
"Yes, back when we were together before I met you, she would cook for me. The food was amazing," My dad said. I didn't miss the frown that was on Catherine's face before she started to smile.
"Oh, well, maybe you could cook for us one day," Catherine said, smiling at my mom with a fake smile.
"Maybe," My mom said, smiling back at her with the fakest smile I had ever seen my mom wear. Everyone started to eat quietly.
"So, Michael told me that you liked the house. Have you picked out your room?" Catherine asked breaking the silence
"Yes, the house is nice and I did pick my room," I replied
"That's good but I still think you should stay in the packhouse with us so that you can meet some of the pack members," Catherine said and I knew my mom was getting angry by the way she was glaring at Catherine
"I already told you that she will be staying with me," My mom said
"I know what you said, but I can't help but wonder if that is what Aliza wants or if it's what you want. I believe Aliza should be the one to decide if she wants to live with you or Michael. Michael is her father, after all, and he has missed out on a lot of her life because you kept her existence away from him," Catherine said
"Catherine," My dad said
"What? I am only being honest," Catherine said.
"You know what? You are right. Aliza is the one who should decide where she wants to stay," my mom said, and then she looked at me. "Aliza, would you like to stay here with your dad or in the house with me? It is your choice," My mom said
"I want to stay with you, Mom," I said
"Are you sure? I want you to make the choice that you want, not what your mom wants you to do," Catherine said. I knew she was trying to start something. She wanted to turn me against my mom. It worked last time, but it wouldn't work this time.
"You know what?" My mom started to say, but I cut her off. I knew she was getting pissed off, and she had every reason to be pissed off by Catherine's attitude.
"I want to stay with my mom, and that is my decision," I replied
"Well, okay. I just wish you would stay with us. Your dad has missed out on being in your life because of..."
"Catherine," My dad said, cutting her off.
"What, Michael? I don't think it's right that you haven't spent anytime with your daughter because of her," Catherine said
"I did what I did to protect my daughter," Tina said
"Okay, stop," I screamed, causing everyone to look at me. "I have made my choice. I will be staying with my mom. I will meet pack members in school and at training. I will also come here and spend time in the packhouse but I want to stay with my mom."
Aliza's Point of View"Okay, stop," I screamed, causing everyone to look at me. "I have made my choice. I will be staying with my mom. I will meet pack members in school and at training. I will also come here and spend time in the packhouse, but I want to stay with my mom," I said. I wasn't going to sit there and listen to Catherine act all concerned about me and my father and also trying to make my mom look bad. I knew she didn't care about any of us. "Okay, whatever you want," My dad said"I agree," My mom added "If that is what you want then fine," Catherine said"Thank you," I replied "Since you brought up school I wanted you to know that I have already contacted White River High and let them know that you would be going to school there soon as a senior," My dad said"Okay, thanks. I would like to start school tomorrow," I said"Are you sure? You could wait a few days until you are settled," My dad said"I want to go. I don't want to fall too behind," I said"Aliza loves going
Aliza's Point of ViewI woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I looked at the clock to see if it was seven in the morning. I didn't want to get up because I was really tired from staying up all night thinking about everything. Knowing that it would be my first day at a new school I got up and went into my bathroom to shower. While I was showering, I kept thinking about my parents and how they were most likely mates. From what my mom said, my dad had told her that they were mates, and she even felt a connection to him and sparks when they touched. I could tell they felt something for each other the night before. What I didn't get was why he left my mom for Catherine. What made him think that Catherine was his mate and not my mom? I knew I needed to get answers and quickly. Catherine had a plan, and that was to make sure Josh became the Alpha of the Pack and get rid of everyone who stood by my dad. I still didn't know if I could trust my brother. Catherine was his mom, and
Aliza's Point of View"This is your locker," Kayla said when we got to my locker. I already knew where my locker was and the code but I acted as if I didn't. "I am going to get my things out of my locker, and then we can walk to the first period together. You can sit by me if you would like," Kayla said"That would be great, thanks," I replied with a smile, then I walked with her to her locker. Once she got her things we headed to first period. "Can I ask you a question?" Kayla asked. We were early to the first period, and we were the only students in the classroom. The teacher was also not in the room yet. "Sure," I said"Why did you hug me the day you arrived? It seemed like you knew me, but I know we have never met before," Kayla said. I was silent for a moment, trying to figure out how to answer her question. I knew I couldn't tell her the truth. If I did, she would think I was crazy."Let's just say I have a feeling you and I are going to be great friends. That is if you would
Aliza's Point of View"Hello, Catherine," I said. It took a lot for me to keep the smile on my face as she walked up to me"Hello, Aliza. It is nice to see you here," Catherine said"Kayla and I are going to do our homework together," I said"That is nice. Do you mind if I talk to you for a moment in private?" Catherine asked. I wanted to yell at her and tell her that I didn't want to hear what she had to say, but I stayed calm. "Um, sure," I replied and looked at Kayla. "I will meet you in your room," I said"Okay," Kayla replied, and she walked to her room. Catherine and I walked up to her floor to talk. Once we got there, we sat on the couch in the family room. I stayed quiet, waiting for her to speak. "I wanted to apologize to you. I know I keep insisting on you staying here with your father and me. I just want to get to know you. Your mom kept you from us, and your father and I feel bad that we weren't able to be in your life," Catherine said. I wanted to cuss her out and let
Aliza's Point of View"I am from the future," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before responding"What?""I came back from the future," I said and she started laughing hysterically. "Oh, you are so funny. You almost had me there," Kayla said still laughing"I am being serious," I said as I stared at her with a serious expresson on my face. Kayla instantly stopped laughing and look at me."You are being serious," Kayla said"Yes, I am," I said"Okay, well it is getting late and I am getting tired so maybe you should go," Kayla said"I know you don't believe me, Kayla but what I am saying is true. I came back from the past," I said"I can tell you believe what you are saying but..." "Look, Kayla. I know you think I am crazy but I'm not. I really came back from the past," I said "Yeah, sure you did," Kayla replied obviously not convinced"I can prove it to you," I said"How?" Kayla asked"I know that your favorite color is purple, your favorite food is chick-fil-A. You love da
Aliza's Point of View "What is my favorite color?" Kayla asked as she drove me home. "Gold," I said. Kayla had been asking me questions about her the whole ride home. I guess she wanted to make sure I was telling the truth about coming back from the future. Each question she asked I answered corrected and everytime her eyes seemed to get bigger. "Okay, one more question. What is my favorite Ice cream," Kayla asked "You have more than one. You like oreo, bubble gum, chocolate, cheesecake, and orange sherbert. You don't like any other sherbert," I replied. "This is so crazy. I can't believe the Moon Goddess brought you back from the future. You must be very special and you are my best friend," Kayla said. "Yes, I am," I replied "You know. I never had a best friend. All the girls..." "Have always been mean to you. You always wondered why none of them wanted to hang with you," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before she replied "You are good," Kayla said "We had thi
Michael's Point of View"How was your day, Honey?" Catherine asked when I walked into our bedroom. "It was okay. We spotted two rogues trying to get on our territory, but we caught them," I replied"That's good. I wanted to talk to you about Aliza," Catherine said, and I already knew what she was going to say. "I don't understand why she doesn't want to live with us," Catherine said"I know you want Aliza to stay here, but she has lived with her mom her entire life," I replied"She should be upset with her mom for keeping you two apart. You are Aliza's father, and you deserve to get to know her. I think you should demand that she stay here with us. Honestly, you should kick Tina out of the Pack," Catherine said"Neither of those things are going to happen, Catherine. It is Aliza's choice who she lives with, and she chooses to stay with her mother. I will not kick Tina out of the Pack. She is Aliza's mother," I said. I was shocked at how upset my wolf was getting at Catherine's words.
Chapter 1 Aliza's Point of View "Come on, Kayla. We have to get out of here. We can't let them catch us," I told my best friend as we ran through the woods. Suddenly, she fell to the ground. "Kayla," I said. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her body to help her walk. I could hear the others getting closer. "You have to leave me, Aliza," Kayla said "No, I am not going to leave you, Kayla," I replied "You have to before they get to us. You know if they catch us, they will kill us both," Kayla said. I had to get her out of there. I had lost too many people already. I couldn't lose her, too. "I am not leaving you," I replied as I helped her up again. "There you are. Where do you think you are going?" I looked up to see my mate, Cain, the guy who betrayed me, standing there. "Stay away from me, Cain," I said "I'm afraid I can't do that," Cain said. Cain took a step closer to me, and I took a step back. "You are coming back with me," Cain said as he grabbed onto me.
