Aliza's Point of View
"Hello, Catherine," I said. It took a lot for me to keep the smile on my face as she walked up to me
"Hello, Aliza. It is nice to see you here," Catherine said
"Kayla and I are going to do our homework together," I said
"That is nice. Do you mind if I talk to you for a moment in private?" Catherine asked. I wanted to yell at her and tell her that I didn't want to hear what she had to say, but I stayed calm.
"Um, sure," I replied and looked at Kayla. "I will meet you in your room," I said
"Okay," Kayla replied, and she walked to her room. Catherine and I walked up to her floor to talk. Once we got there, we sat on the couch in the family room. I stayed quiet, waiting for her to speak.
"I wanted to apologize to you. I know I keep insisting on you staying here with your father and me. I just want to get to know you. Your mom kept you from us, and your father and I feel bad that we weren't able to be in your life," Catherine said. I wanted to cuss her out and let her know that I knew she was lying.
"It's okay, Catherine. I understand," I said
"Thanks, Aliza, for understanding," Catherine said with a smile
"I am going to go to Kayla's room so we can start our homework," I said. I was ready to get out of there and away from her. Before I could stand, Catherine spoke
"Wait. I wanted to say that I understand if you want to stay with your mom. I get that you feel comfortable with her, but your father and I would love for you to stay with us," Catherine said
"I am sorry, Catherine, but I want to stay with my mom. I will visit and get to know the pack members, but I don't want to stay here," I said
"That's fine. Hopefully, you will spend the night at the packhouse sometimes," Catherine said
"Maybe," I replied
"I also want you to know that if you ever need to talk to someone, I am here for you. I am sure you are upset that your mom kept all of this a secret from you. I want you to know that it is okay to be upset with her. If you ever need to talk about her, you can come to me. Anything you say will stay between you and me," Catherine said. It took a lot for me not to punch her in the face. I knew she was trying to turn me against my mom. She was able to do that last time, but I wasn't going to let that happen this time, now that I knew what she was up to.
"Thanks, Catherine, but that is unnecessary. I admit that I was upset with my mom when I first found out about everything, but I am not upset with her anymore. I know my mom was trying to protect me," I said.
"Okay, but I want you to know that the offer still stands. If you ever need someone to talk to I will be there," Catherine said
"Thanks, Catherine," I replied, and I stood up from the couch. "I am going to go see Kayla," I said
"Okay, Oh, and there is one more thing," Catherine said
"What is that?" I asked
"My nephew Cain is coming to visit us tonight. We were hoping that you would come to dinner so that you could meet him," Catherine said, shocking me
"What did you say?" I asked. The last time, Cain didn't show up for about two weeks after I moved to my dad's pack. I didn't understand why he was coming earlier this time.
"My nephew. He is coming to visit. He will be here for about a week. I was hoping you would come to dinner so that you could meet him," Catherine said
"Um, I am eating with my mom tonight," I said
"Okay, maybe tomorrow," Catherine said
"Sure," I replied, and I walked out of the room. I couldn't help but be nervous. Cain was coming earlier than I expected, and I didn't know what to do. One thing I knew was that there was no way I was going to accept him as my mate, not after the way he betrayed me.Once I got to Kayla's room, I knocked on the door, and she opened it.
"How did you know where my room was?" Kayla asked
"Kayla, there is something I need to tell you, but you can't tell anyone else," I said as I walked into her room, and she closed the door. I wasn't sure if she would believe me, but I needed to let her know what was going on.
"Okay, what is it?" Kayla asked
"I am from the future," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before responding
"What?"
Aliza's Point of View"I am from the future," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before responding"What?""I came back from the future," I said and she started laughing hysterically. "Oh, you are so funny. You almost had me there," Kayla said still laughing"I am being serious," I said as I stared at her with a serious expresson on my face. Kayla instantly stopped laughing and look at me."You are being serious," Kayla said"Yes, I am," I said"Okay, well it is getting late and I am getting tired so maybe you should go," Kayla said"I know you don't believe me, Kayla but what I am saying is true. I came back from the past," I said"I can tell you believe what you are saying but..." "Look, Kayla. I know you think I am crazy but I'm not. I really came back from the past," I said "Yeah, sure you did," Kayla replied obviously not convinced"I can prove it to you," I said"How?" Kayla asked"I know that your favorite color is purple, your favorite food is chick-fil-A. You love da
Aliza's Point of View "What is my favorite color?" Kayla asked as she drove me home. "Gold," I said. Kayla had been asking me questions about her the whole ride home. I guess she wanted to make sure I was telling the truth about coming back from the future. Each question she asked I answered corrected and everytime her eyes seemed to get bigger. "Okay, one more question. What is my favorite Ice cream," Kayla asked "You have more than one. You like oreo, bubble gum, chocolate, cheesecake, and orange sherbert. You don't like any other sherbert," I replied. "This is so crazy. I can't believe the Moon Goddess brought you back from the future. You must be very special and you are my best friend," Kayla said. "Yes, I am," I replied "You know. I never had a best friend. All the girls..." "Have always been mean to you. You always wondered why none of them wanted to hang with you," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before she replied "You are good," Kayla said "We had thi
Michael's Point of View"How was your day, Honey?" Catherine asked when I walked into our bedroom. "It was okay. We spotted two rogues trying to get on our territory, but we caught them," I replied"That's good. I wanted to talk to you about Aliza," Catherine said, and I already knew what she was going to say. "I don't understand why she doesn't want to live with us," Catherine said"I know you want Aliza to stay here, but she has lived with her mom her entire life," I replied"She should be upset with her mom for keeping you two apart. You are Aliza's father, and you deserve to get to know her. I think you should demand that she stay here with us. Honestly, you should kick Tina out of the Pack," Catherine said"Neither of those things are going to happen, Catherine. It is Aliza's choice who she lives with, and she chooses to stay with her mother. I will not kick Tina out of the Pack. She is Aliza's mother," I said. I was shocked at how upset my wolf was getting at Catherine's words.
Chapter 1 Aliza's Point of View "Come on, Kayla. We have to get out of here. We can't let them catch us," I told my best friend as we ran through the woods. Suddenly, she fell to the ground. "Kayla," I said. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her body to help her walk. I could hear the others getting closer. "You have to leave me, Aliza," Kayla said "No, I am not going to leave you, Kayla," I replied "You have to before they get to us. You know if they catch us, they will kill us both," Kayla said. I had to get her out of there. I had lost too many people already. I couldn't lose her, too. "I am not leaving you," I replied as I helped her up again. "There you are. Where do you think you are going?" I looked up to see my mate, Cain, the guy who betrayed me, standing there. "Stay away from me, Cain," I said "I'm afraid I can't do that," Cain said. Cain took a step closer to me, and I took a step back. "You are coming back with me," Cain said as he grabbed onto me.
Chapter 2Aliza's Point of ViewI woke up and saw that I was in a car. I looked over and was so happy to see my mom driving while I was sitting in the passenger seat."Mom, you're alive," I said happily."Of course, I am alive, sweetheart. Are you okay?" My mom asked, concerned."Yeah, I just had a bad dream," I replied. I couldn't help the tears that were coming to my eyes. My mom was killed over a month ago by rogues. I know now that Catherine hired the rogues to kill my mom."Look, Sweetheart, I know you're upset because I lied to you about your father, but I wasn't trying to. I thought I was doing what was best for you. I was trying to protect you. Now I know I was wrong, and I am sorry," My mom saidI shifted into a werewolf for the first time on my eighteenth birthday. I was so scared and confused when it happened. I had no idea werewolves existed. I woke up in the woods naked and afraid. I went home and told my mom what happened. That was when she told me the truth about who my
Aliza's Point of View"You have been silent for a while now, Sweetheart. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" My mom asked me while she drove the carOnce we were finished eating, we got back into the car and made our way to the White River Pack. I was a nervous wreck the entire drive to the White River Pack. There were many times that I almost told my mom that I didn't want to move there and that we should go somewhere else far away, but I knew that if I did that Catherine would win, and I couldn't let that happen."I am fine, Mom. I am just a little nervous," I lied"I understand why you are nervous, Sweetheart, but know I am here with you. I will always have your back," My mom said"I know that, Mom. I am so sorry I have been such a brat to you. You didn't deserve my attitude. I know you were doing what was best for me. You always have, and I want you to know that I love you so much, Mom. Thanks for everything," I said"You don't have to thank me, Sweetheart. I am your
Aliza's Point of ViewI heard the elevator ding, and my heart started beating fast. I looked over and saw my father, brother, and the woman who had destroyed everything, my stepmother Catherine, walking into the family room. My mom stood up, and I did the same as they walked closer to us. "Dad, I missed you. I love you so much," I said as I hugged him tightly. My dad had treated me well for the little bit of time I had known him. He was a great father to both Josh and me and I wished I would have met him sooner. I know I shocked him because of how tense he was, but then he relaxed into the hug and wrapped his arms around me hugging me back. "You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that, Aliza. I wish I had known about you. I promise I would have been in your life," My dad said, and I pulled away from the hug. I looked at my mom to see she had tears in her eyes. "Hello, Tina," My dad said"Hello, Michael," my mom replied. They kept staring at each other. They would do that
Aliza's Point of View"I am sorry for Catherine's behavior. She is only trying to be helpful," my dad said as he drove us to the house. My mom was in the passenger seat while I was in the backseat."Sure she is," My mom said"She really means well, Tina," My dad said as he touched her hand, causing her to look at him for a moment before removing her hand from his. "Just make sure she understands that I am Aliza's mom," My mom said Once we made it to the two-story brick house that had a fence, three bedrooms, living room, dining room, big kitchen, huge fenced-in backyard with deck, and four bathrooms, my dad opened the door, and my mom gasped at what she saw. "DO you like it?" My dad asked"Yes, it is beautiful. We have never lived in a house this beautiful before," My mom said truthfully. We had a two-bedroom house my grandmother left for us when she passed away. It wasn't as big and nice as the house we were in now, but it was our home. "I made sure the kitchen was fully stocked,
