Chapter 3

Aliza's Point of View

"You have been silent for a while now, Sweetheart. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" My mom asked me while she drove the car

Once we were finished eating, we got back into the car and made our way to the White River Pack. I was a nervous wreck the entire drive to the White River Pack. There were many times that I almost told my mom that I didn't want to move there and that we should go somewhere else far away, but I knew that if I did that Catherine would win, and I couldn't let that happen.

"I am fine, Mom. I am just a little nervous," I lied

"I understand why you are nervous, Sweetheart, but know I am here with you. I will always have your back," My mom said

"I know that, Mom. I am so sorry I have been such a brat to you. You didn't deserve my attitude. I know you were doing what was best for me. You always have, and I want you to know that I love you so much, Mom. Thanks for everything," I said

"You don't have to thank me, Sweetheart. I am your mother, and that is what I am supposed to do. I love you, too. More than anything in the world," My mom replied, and I smiled. "I have to admit I am happy you are not upset with me anymore. I missed talking to you," My mom said

"I missed talking to you too," I replied. About twenty-five minutes later, I saw the golden gate that White River Pack, written in giant letters, let me know that we were about to enter my dad's pack. Two men who were guarding the Pack Gate walked up to us. "Hello, may I help you ms?" one of the men asked

"Hello, my name is Tina Bailey, and this is my daughter, Aliza. We are here to see Michael," My mom said

"Oh, yes, of course. Alpha Michael has been expecting you," The man and he lifted his hand. The gate started opening. "follow that car. It will lead you to the packhouse."

"Okay, thank you," my mom said, and we followed the warrior's car to the packhouse.

I looked out of the window at all the pack members happily walking down the street. Some were walking with their families, while others were walking with their friends. We passed White River Elementary and I could see kids playing with outside on the playground. None of them knew the danger they were in. It was crazy that in eight months most of these people would be dead if I didn't figure out how to defeat Catherine and the small amount of traitors that were in this pack.

Mom pulled up to the packhouse and parked the car. "Are you ready to meet your father?" My mom asked

"Yeah," I replied nervously and we got out of the car and headed to the packhouse.

The front door opened before we made it to the front step just like it did in the past and I saw Ms. Davis standing there with a smile on her face. Ms. Davis was an older lady and the head housekeeper at the pack. She did everything, even the things Catherine was supposed to do as Luna. I always knew Ms. Davis didn't like Catherine and neither did my dad's sister Aunt Vicky . She was old enough to be my grandmother. She was my father nanny when he was growing up. My grandmother died in a rogue attack and my grandfather became evil. He wasn't a good alpha or father to my dad or Aunt Vicky. He would mistreat my dad, Aunt, and the pack. When my dad was sixteen he challenged my grandfather to take over the pack and won. My dad didn't have the heart to kill my grandfather so he kicked him out of the pack and no one has heard from him since then.

Seeing Ms. Davis made me think about the last time I had seen her. She had been killed by one of the traitors in the Pack. They had beheaded her because she wouldn't bow to Catherine after she had killed my father.

"Hello," Ms. Davis said

"Hello, Ms. Da... I mean mam," I replied causing my mom and Ms Davis to look at me in confusion.

"My name is Ms. Davis and I am the head housekeeper in the Packhouse. You must be Ms. Bailey and Aliza," Ms Davis said.

"Please call me Tina," My mom said with a smile, and Ms. Davis returned her smile.

"Your father has been so excited that he is finally going to meet you. You look just like him. He wanted to meet you here, but your brother and he got stuck in a meeting. They should be finished soon," Ms. Davis said as we followed her to the elevator. She pressed the button for the ninth floor, which was my father's floor. "You can have a seat here. I have to go check on something, but I will be back in a few," Ms Davis said

"Thank you, Ms. Davis," My mom said, and Ms Davis left.

"This is very nice," My mom said, looking around the living room

"Yeah, it is," I replied.

I heard the elevator ding, and my heart started beating fast. I looked over and saw my father, brother, and the woman who had destroyed everything, my stepmother Catherine, walking into the family room.
