Michael's Point of View
"How was your day, Honey?" Catherine asked when I walked into our bedroom.
"It was okay. We spotted two rogues trying to get on our territory, but we caught them," I replied
"That's good. I wanted to talk to you about Aliza," Catherine said, and I already knew what she was going to say. "I don't understand why she doesn't want to live with us," Catherine said
"I know you want Aliza to stay here, but she has lived with her mom her entire life," I replied
"She should be upset with her mom for keeping you two apart. You are Aliza's father, and you deserve to get to know her. I think you should demand that she stay here with us. Honestly, you should kick Tina out of the Pack," Catherine said
"Neither of those things are going to happen, Catherine. It is Aliza's choice who she lives with, and she chooses to stay with her mother. I will not kick Tina out of the Pack. She is Aliza's mother," I said. I was shocked at how upset my wolf was getting at Catherine's words. He didn't like the way she was speaking about Tina.
"Are you sure that is the only reason why you won't kick Tina out?" Catherine asked
"What are you trying to say?" I asked
"What I am saying is that it seems there is more to why you don't want to get rid of Tina. Maybe you have feelings for her," Catherine said
"You are my mate, Catherine. You are the woman I want to be with. I don't have feelings for Tina," I said as I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her softly. For some reason, my wolf was agitated by my actions.
"I guess I must be overthinking everything. I am going to order something for dinner. You should take a shower," Catherine said
"Okay, I will be down in a minute," I said, and I headed to the bathroom
"What is wrong with you?" I asked my wolf. Ever since Aliza and Tina had arrived, he had been acting different
"Catherine is getting on my nerves. I don't like how she speaks about Tina," My wolf replied
"She is just upset. I am sure she will get used to her being here," I said
"She is going to have to because we are not making her leave," My wolf said, and I agreed with him.
"I invited Aliza to dinner tomorrow night, but she didn't seem to want to come. I don't think she likes me," Catherine said as we ate dinner.
"I am sure that is not true. She is just not used to us yet," I replied
"If you made her stay with us, she would get used to us," Catherine said
"I already told you I am not going to do that," I replied, and Tina was silent.
"Are you going to drink your tea?" Tina asked
"No, I'm not in the mood for tea," I replied.
"Whatever, I am going to go talk with Janet," Catherine said. Janet was her best friend and one of the top warrior's mates.
"Okay," I replied
"I am going to go hang out with Scott," Josh said
"Okay, don't stay out late. Tomorrow is a school day," I said
"Okay, Dad," Josh said
"Josh," I said before he could get up and leave
"Yes, dad," Josh asked
"Are you and Aliza getting along?" I asked
"I really haven't really spoken to her. Mom thinks she doesn't want anything to do with us," Josh replied
"That isn't true. Will you do me a favor and try to get to know her," I asked
"Sure, Dad," Josh replied
"Thanks, son," I replied, and Josh left. I decided to go up to my room to get some sleep. It had been a long day, and I was tired. While I was lying in bed, I couldn't stop thinking about Tina.
Aliza's Point of View
I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. I looked over at Kayla, who was stretching and yawning.
"It's morning already?" Kayla asked with a groan.
"Yep, we have to get ready for school," I said, and she put the cover over her head. I went to the walk-in closet to get the outfit I was going to wear, and then I went to the bathroom to shower. Once I was finished showering, I put on the light blue sundress I had decided to wear that day. I brushed my combed hair, letting it hang loosely down my back. Once I was done, I went back into my bedroom to see Kayla sitting up on the bed. She was going to wear one of my outfits since she didn't bring any of her clothes over.
While Kayla was getting ready, I headed downstairs to the kitchen. On my way to the Kitchen, I could smell the delicious smell of my mom's cooking.
"Hey, Mom," I said, and then I froze in my spot. I was shocked to see my dad sitting at the table drinking coffee, while my mom cooked breakfast. She was laughing at something he had said. Suddenly, they stopped talking and looked at me.
"Hello, Sweety."
Chapter 1 Aliza's Point of View "Come on, Kayla. We have to get out of here. We can't let them catch us," I told my best friend as we ran through the woods. Suddenly, she fell to the ground. "Kayla," I said. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her body to help her walk. I could hear the others getting closer. "You have to leave me, Aliza," Kayla said "No, I am not going to leave you, Kayla," I replied "You have to before they get to us. You know if they catch us, they will kill us both," Kayla said. I had to get her out of there. I had lost too many people already. I couldn't lose her, too. "I am not leaving you," I replied as I helped her up again. "There you are. Where do you think you are going?" I looked up to see my mate, Cain, the guy who betrayed me, standing there. "Stay away from me, Cain," I said "I'm afraid I can't do that," Cain said. Cain took a step closer to me, and I took a step back. "You are coming back with me," Cain said as he grabbed onto me.
Chapter 2Aliza's Point of ViewI woke up and saw that I was in a car. I looked over and was so happy to see my mom driving while I was sitting in the passenger seat."Mom, you're alive," I said happily."Of course, I am alive, sweetheart. Are you okay?" My mom asked, concerned."Yeah, I just had a bad dream," I replied. I couldn't help the tears that were coming to my eyes. My mom was killed over a month ago by rogues. I know now that Catherine hired the rogues to kill my mom."Look, Sweetheart, I know you're upset because I lied to you about your father, but I wasn't trying to. I thought I was doing what was best for you. I was trying to protect you. Now I know I was wrong, and I am sorry," My mom saidI shifted into a werewolf for the first time on my eighteenth birthday. I was so scared and confused when it happened. I had no idea werewolves existed. I woke up in the woods naked and afraid. I went home and told my mom what happened. That was when she told me the truth about who my
Aliza's Point of View"You have been silent for a while now, Sweetheart. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" My mom asked me while she drove the carOnce we were finished eating, we got back into the car and made our way to the White River Pack. I was a nervous wreck the entire drive to the White River Pack. There were many times that I almost told my mom that I didn't want to move there and that we should go somewhere else far away, but I knew that if I did that Catherine would win, and I couldn't let that happen."I am fine, Mom. I am just a little nervous," I lied"I understand why you are nervous, Sweetheart, but know I am here with you. I will always have your back," My mom said"I know that, Mom. I am so sorry I have been such a brat to you. You didn't deserve my attitude. I know you were doing what was best for me. You always have, and I want you to know that I love you so much, Mom. Thanks for everything," I said"You don't have to thank me, Sweetheart. I am your
Aliza's Point of ViewI heard the elevator ding, and my heart started beating fast. I looked over and saw my father, brother, and the woman who had destroyed everything, my stepmother Catherine, walking into the family room. My mom stood up, and I did the same as they walked closer to us. "Dad, I missed you. I love you so much," I said as I hugged him tightly. My dad had treated me well for the little bit of time I had known him. He was a great father to both Josh and me and I wished I would have met him sooner. I know I shocked him because of how tense he was, but then he relaxed into the hug and wrapped his arms around me hugging me back. "You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that, Aliza. I wish I had known about you. I promise I would have been in your life," My dad said, and I pulled away from the hug. I looked at my mom to see she had tears in her eyes. "Hello, Tina," My dad said"Hello, Michael," my mom replied. They kept staring at each other. They would do that
Aliza's Point of View"I am sorry for Catherine's behavior. She is only trying to be helpful," my dad said as he drove us to the house. My mom was in the passenger seat while I was in the backseat."Sure she is," My mom said"She really means well, Tina," My dad said as he touched her hand, causing her to look at him for a moment before removing her hand from his. "Just make sure she understands that I am Aliza's mom," My mom said Once we made it to the two-story brick house that had a fence, three bedrooms, living room, dining room, big kitchen, huge fenced-in backyard with deck, and four bathrooms, my dad opened the door, and my mom gasped at what she saw. "DO you like it?" My dad asked"Yes, it is beautiful. We have never lived in a house this beautiful before," My mom said truthfully. We had a two-bedroom house my grandmother left for us when she passed away. It wasn't as big and nice as the house we were in now, but it was our home. "I made sure the kitchen was fully stocked,
Aliza's Point of ViewWhen we made it back to the Packhouse, Catherine, Josh, and My dad were already outside waiting for us outside by the front door. My mom and I got out and walked up the stairs to where they were standing. We all greeted each other, walked into the packhouse, and made our way to the elevator to get to the Alpha Floor. On our way to the elevator, I saw Kayla walking with some of the maids. "Kayla, you have no idea how happy I am to see you," I screamed and hugged her. I couldn't stop thinking about the last time I had seen her. She had sacrificed herself so that I could get away. I could tell Kayla was shocked by how tense she was. "Um, hello," Kayla said, still tense. "Do you two know each other?" Catherine asked"No, I have never seen her before in my life," Kayla said"No, I just overheard some of your pack members saying nice things about her. I thought we could be friends," I lied. "Oh, okay. We should go and leave Kayla to do what she was doing," Catheri
Aliza's Point of View"Okay, stop," I screamed, causing everyone to look at me. "I have made my choice. I will be staying with my mom. I will meet pack members in school and at training. I will also come here and spend time in the packhouse, but I want to stay with my mom," I said. I wasn't going to sit there and listen to Catherine act all concerned about me and my father and also trying to make my mom look bad. I knew she didn't care about any of us. "Okay, whatever you want," My dad said"I agree," My mom added "If that is what you want then fine," Catherine said"Thank you," I replied "Since you brought up school I wanted you to know that I have already contacted White River High and let them know that you would be going to school there soon as a senior," My dad said"Okay, thanks. I would like to start school tomorrow," I said"Are you sure? You could wait a few days until you are settled," My dad said"I want to go. I don't want to fall too behind," I said"Aliza loves going
Aliza's Point of ViewI woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I looked at the clock to see if it was seven in the morning. I didn't want to get up because I was really tired from staying up all night thinking about everything. Knowing that it would be my first day at a new school I got up and went into my bathroom to shower. While I was showering, I kept thinking about my parents and how they were most likely mates. From what my mom said, my dad had told her that they were mates, and she even felt a connection to him and sparks when they touched. I could tell they felt something for each other the night before. What I didn't get was why he left my mom for Catherine. What made him think that Catherine was his mate and not my mom? I knew I needed to get answers and quickly. Catherine had a plan, and that was to make sure Josh became the Alpha of the Pack and get rid of everyone who stood by my dad. I still didn't know if I could trust my brother. Catherine was his mom, and
