Aliza's Point of View
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I looked at the clock to see if it was seven in the morning. I didn't want to get up because I was really tired from staying up all night thinking about everything. Knowing that it would be my first day at a new school I got up and went into my bathroom to shower. While I was showering, I kept thinking about my parents and how they were most likely mates. From what my mom said, my dad had told her that they were mates, and she even felt a connection to him and sparks when they touched. I could tell they felt something for each other the night before. What I didn't get was why he left my mom for Catherine. What made him think that Catherine was his mate and not my mom? I knew I needed to get answers and quickly. Catherine had a plan, and that was to make sure Josh became the Alpha of the Pack and get rid of everyone who stood by my dad.
I still didn't know if I could trust my brother. Catherine was his mom, and he would most likely be on her side. At the same time, Michael was his dad just like he was mine. I wasn't sure if he would go against our dad for Catherine. I knew I needed to get to know him. The last time, I barely spent time with him, so I barely knew him. Now that I think about it, every time I asked about Josh and said I wanted to spend time with him, Catherine would tell me he was busy. She was trying to keep me away from him so we wouldn't have a relationship. Just another thing that proved I was so clueless when it came to her.
Once I was finished showering, I brushed my teeth and combed my hair out. I decided to let my hair hang loose. I put on a pair of blue jeans and a light blue T-shirt. I looked at myself in the mirror before walking out of the bathroom. I put on my light blue Nikes and headed to the kitchen. I knew my mom was cooking because I could smell the delicious food. It had been a while since I had tasted my mom's cooking. Before everything happened, I was so mad at my mom that I didn't spend time with her. I hadn't tasted her food since we moved to my dad's pack.
"Hey, mom," I said as I walked into the kitchen. She was placing food on the table.
"Hey, Sweetheart. Have a seat. I just finished breakfast," My mom said, and I didn't hesitate. I sat down and put three pancakes, eggs, and a lot of sausage and bacon on my plate. It was crazy how much I could eat since I had shifted for the first time.
"Are you excited for your first day at a new school?" My mom asked
"Yeah, I am excited. I can't wait to make friends," I said
"You aren't nervous?" My mom asked
"No," I replied. The first time I started school at the White River Pack I was nervous but I made friends quickly. Everyone was so nice to me.
The doorbell went off, and my mom got up to get the door while I finished my food.
"Michael, Catherine what are you doing here?" I heard my mom asked
"We told you we wanted to be there when Aliza starts school," My dad said and I couldn't help but groan remembering the first time I started school at White River High. My mom, dad, and Catherine came with me on my first day. It was embarrassing. I was eighteen years old and only had about half of a school year left until I graduated. I didn't need my parents walking me to class.
A few moments later they walked into the kitchen. "Good morning, Aliza. Are you ready to start your first day?" My dad asked
"Yes, I am," I replied
"Well, we will be there with you just in case you are nervous," Catherine said. I wanted to tell her that I didn't want her anywhere near me, but I just smiled at her. I went to my room got my backpack and put on a sweater before I went back downstairs.
My mom and I drove in her car while Catherine and my dad drove in theirs. My dad asked my mom and me to ride with them, but I knew my mom would be uncomfortable, so I told them we would take her car. Once we got at school, they all got out of their cars, and we went to the front desk.
"Hello, Alpha, Luna," The receptionist said
"Hello, we are here to enroll my daughter in school," My dad said
"Of course, Alpha. The principal told us that she would be starting soon," The lady said, and she handed my mom a Chromebook. "The Application is on here. Just fill out all of her information. We already have copies of her transcript, so we already know what classes she needs to take," the lady said
"Thank you," My mom said, and we sat down and filled out the forms. Once she was done, my mom gave the forms to the lady, and she gave me my schedule. The students were just getting to school and Kayla walked in.
"Aliza, this is Kayla. She will show you to your locker and first period."
"Okay, thanks," I said with a smile. This was how I met Kayla the first time.
"Hello," I said
"Hello, Aliza. Do you have your schedule and locker number?" Kayla asked
"Yes," I replied and showed her the paper with my schedule and locker number. I held the paper out for her to take and she took it.
"You are in all of my classes and are lockers are close to each other," Kayla said with a smile. I smiled back at her already knowing that information.
"Great," I said
"You ready to go?" Kayla asked
"Yes," I replied and we started to head to our lockers. I looked behind me to see my mom, dad, and Catherine about to follow us. Last time I let them walk with me to my first period but I wasn't going to let them this time.
"I don't need you three following me. I will see you at home," I said
"Are you sure?" My dad asked
"Yeah, Kayla will show me around. Besides, I am eighteen," I said
"Okay, we will meet you at home," My mom said. I knew she only came because Catherine was coming and there was no way she was going to let some other woman act like my mom. My parent and Catherine left and Aliza and I headed to our lockers
Aliza's Point of View"This is your locker," Kayla said when we got to my locker. I already knew where my locker was and the code but I acted as if I didn't. "I am going to get my things out of my locker, and then we can walk to the first period together. You can sit by me if you would like," Kayla said"That would be great, thanks," I replied with a smile, then I walked with her to her locker. Once she got her things we headed to first period. "Can I ask you a question?" Kayla asked. We were early to the first period, and we were the only students in the classroom. The teacher was also not in the room yet. "Sure," I said"Why did you hug me the day you arrived? It seemed like you knew me, but I know we have never met before," Kayla said. I was silent for a moment, trying to figure out how to answer her question. I knew I couldn't tell her the truth. If I did, she would think I was crazy."Let's just say I have a feeling you and I are going to be great friends. That is if you would
Aliza's Point of View"Hello, Catherine," I said. It took a lot for me to keep the smile on my face as she walked up to me"Hello, Aliza. It is nice to see you here," Catherine said"Kayla and I are going to do our homework together," I said"That is nice. Do you mind if I talk to you for a moment in private?" Catherine asked. I wanted to yell at her and tell her that I didn't want to hear what she had to say, but I stayed calm. "Um, sure," I replied and looked at Kayla. "I will meet you in your room," I said"Okay," Kayla replied, and she walked to her room. Catherine and I walked up to her floor to talk. Once we got there, we sat on the couch in the family room. I stayed quiet, waiting for her to speak. "I wanted to apologize to you. I know I keep insisting on you staying here with your father and me. I just want to get to know you. Your mom kept you from us, and your father and I feel bad that we weren't able to be in your life," Catherine said. I wanted to cuss her out and let
Aliza's Point of View"I am from the future," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before responding"What?""I came back from the future," I said and she started laughing hysterically. "Oh, you are so funny. You almost had me there," Kayla said still laughing"I am being serious," I said as I stared at her with a serious expresson on my face. Kayla instantly stopped laughing and look at me."You are being serious," Kayla said"Yes, I am," I said"Okay, well it is getting late and I am getting tired so maybe you should go," Kayla said"I know you don't believe me, Kayla but what I am saying is true. I came back from the past," I said"I can tell you believe what you are saying but..." "Look, Kayla. I know you think I am crazy but I'm not. I really came back from the past," I said "Yeah, sure you did," Kayla replied obviously not convinced"I can prove it to you," I said"How?" Kayla asked"I know that your favorite color is purple, your favorite food is chick-fil-A. You love da
Aliza's Point of View "What is my favorite color?" Kayla asked as she drove me home. "Gold," I said. Kayla had been asking me questions about her the whole ride home. I guess she wanted to make sure I was telling the truth about coming back from the future. Each question she asked I answered corrected and everytime her eyes seemed to get bigger. "Okay, one more question. What is my favorite Ice cream," Kayla asked "You have more than one. You like oreo, bubble gum, chocolate, cheesecake, and orange sherbert. You don't like any other sherbert," I replied. "This is so crazy. I can't believe the Moon Goddess brought you back from the future. You must be very special and you are my best friend," Kayla said. "Yes, I am," I replied "You know. I never had a best friend. All the girls..." "Have always been mean to you. You always wondered why none of them wanted to hang with you," I said and Kayla was silent for a moment before she replied "You are good," Kayla said "We had thi
Michael's Point of View"How was your day, Honey?" Catherine asked when I walked into our bedroom. "It was okay. We spotted two rogues trying to get on our territory, but we caught them," I replied"That's good. I wanted to talk to you about Aliza," Catherine said, and I already knew what she was going to say. "I don't understand why she doesn't want to live with us," Catherine said"I know you want Aliza to stay here, but she has lived with her mom her entire life," I replied"She should be upset with her mom for keeping you two apart. You are Aliza's father, and you deserve to get to know her. I think you should demand that she stay here with us. Honestly, you should kick Tina out of the Pack," Catherine said"Neither of those things are going to happen, Catherine. It is Aliza's choice who she lives with, and she chooses to stay with her mother. I will not kick Tina out of the Pack. She is Aliza's mother," I said. I was shocked at how upset my wolf was getting at Catherine's words.
Chapter 1 Aliza's Point of View "Come on, Kayla. We have to get out of here. We can't let them catch us," I told my best friend as we ran through the woods. Suddenly, she fell to the ground. "Kayla," I said. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her body to help her walk. I could hear the others getting closer. "You have to leave me, Aliza," Kayla said "No, I am not going to leave you, Kayla," I replied "You have to before they get to us. You know if they catch us, they will kill us both," Kayla said. I had to get her out of there. I had lost too many people already. I couldn't lose her, too. "I am not leaving you," I replied as I helped her up again. "There you are. Where do you think you are going?" I looked up to see my mate, Cain, the guy who betrayed me, standing there. "Stay away from me, Cain," I said "I'm afraid I can't do that," Cain said. Cain took a step closer to me, and I took a step back. "You are coming back with me," Cain said as he grabbed onto me.
Chapter 2Aliza's Point of ViewI woke up and saw that I was in a car. I looked over and was so happy to see my mom driving while I was sitting in the passenger seat."Mom, you're alive," I said happily."Of course, I am alive, sweetheart. Are you okay?" My mom asked, concerned."Yeah, I just had a bad dream," I replied. I couldn't help the tears that were coming to my eyes. My mom was killed over a month ago by rogues. I know now that Catherine hired the rogues to kill my mom."Look, Sweetheart, I know you're upset because I lied to you about your father, but I wasn't trying to. I thought I was doing what was best for you. I was trying to protect you. Now I know I was wrong, and I am sorry," My mom saidI shifted into a werewolf for the first time on my eighteenth birthday. I was so scared and confused when it happened. I had no idea werewolves existed. I woke up in the woods naked and afraid. I went home and told my mom what happened. That was when she told me the truth about who my
Aliza's Point of View"You have been silent for a while now, Sweetheart. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" My mom asked me while she drove the carOnce we were finished eating, we got back into the car and made our way to the White River Pack. I was a nervous wreck the entire drive to the White River Pack. There were many times that I almost told my mom that I didn't want to move there and that we should go somewhere else far away, but I knew that if I did that Catherine would win, and I couldn't let that happen."I am fine, Mom. I am just a little nervous," I lied"I understand why you are nervous, Sweetheart, but know I am here with you. I will always have your back," My mom said"I know that, Mom. I am so sorry I have been such a brat to you. You didn't deserve my attitude. I know you were doing what was best for me. You always have, and I want you to know that I love you so much, Mom. Thanks for everything," I said"You don't have to thank me, Sweetheart. I am your
