Deep inside me. I wished all this was just a dream. I never left Alex's side. I kept on taking my hands to feel his pulse. I was paranoid, it felt to me as if Alex would stop breathing if I looked away.

Xandra continued to play, I was expecting she would also come down with the fever just like it happened last time in Wolfshade town. But she was holding up strong.

I hoped that Orion would be lucky enough to meet my father and ask the necessary questions.

Orion's question came to me as a surprise too. The only thing I knew about my ability was what I heard from Damian and that was about how our kind were rare and how I should keep my ability a secret. That sneaky bastard! Not knowing that he was planning to get rid of me when the perfect time came.

"You need to be strong for them. You haven't eaten throughout today," Orion's mother said with a forced smile.

"I don't have the appetite," I said.

"You need to try. Xandra needs you at your strongest. Don't let her fe
