Chapter 38: The effect of the dream

My now-shifted wolf body sprinted as fast as it could. Within seconds, I could hear hundreds of feet running toward me. I know they were Erix's warriors. They must have sensed the presence of a rogue that invaded their territory. I wasn't marked yet, so they weren't aware of my scent.

I could hear growls from a distance, but my wolf seemed like it didn't bother to stop and submit. She continued running like she wanted to go somewhere.

"Where are we going?" I asked her, panicking.

"To the place where we can end this once and for all," she replied.

When I heard this, I realized she wanted to kill us, just like I did months ago after the rejection. Unlike me, my wolf suffers a lot. She was the most affected when the bond between Killian and I was severed.

"No, no! This is just a dream. Please wake up!"

My wolf didn't listen to me. Instead, she continued running without any plans of slowing down despite being chased by warriors. My wolf stopped when we reached a cliff.
