THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Mind telling me why you're still moving around dressed like that?" Luther questioned, just as the door opened and his son walked in.

Jamal ignored him and headed to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. He just ran a couple of miles this morning, and he was feeling dehydrated. The towel around his neck was soaked with his sweat. And so was his sweater and pants. He needed a thorough bath.

He returned to the living room with the water, and Luther's gaze was still on him like he was waiting for an answer.

"What?" Jamal shrugged. "I can't move around in this house anymore?"

"Don't play smart with me, son. You're supposed to be on the road with Zach, heading for your competition,"

"I'm not leaving. Not today," Jamal replied, chugging down the remaining water. "Mother is on her way back here. I have to stick around to welcome her,"

"We have servants for that. You don't have to cancel your trip,"
