THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Pass me the salt, please." Gamma Micah demanded, halfway into his plate of pasta.

Zach reached for the salt, just the same time as Zoey did. They both grabbed it, but Zach was quick to take his hands off.

The back of his hand had brushed against Zoey's, and he discreetly rubbed it off on his pants. A gesture Zoey didn't miss. She gulped down her discomfort and stretched the salt to her father.

"Thank you." Gamma Micah muttered. He went on to sprinkle a bit on his food. Then placed the salt next to his plate.

Zach fixed his eyes on his plate, refusing to look up. Zoey was right opposite him, and the last thing he wanted was to look into her eyes. Her emerald eyes were glistening with dirty little secrets. They made his heart race. They made him uneasy and left him wondering just what she's gotten herself involved in.
