MESSIAH JORDY'S POV

"I'm sorry," Zach added, after a bit of awkward silence. "I mean, it sounds ridiculous. But I got this hunch, and I can't shake it off. So yeah, tell me. Did he fall in love with you or am I just being an idiot?" He said amidst a chuckle, sitting with his legs crossed.

Sweat broke through my forehead, cascading to my neck and down inside my shirt. The room was chilly. I had no reason to be sweating that much. Suddenly, I began feeling too suffocated, wanting nothing more but to rip the door open and run off. But I couldn't. I felt glued to the spot I was sitting.

"Jordy?" He called with an arched brow. "Are you alright?"

"Y–yeah. I'm good." I muttered quickly, nodding vehemently. "Why would you think Jamal fell in love with me? That's ridiculous." I forced a smile, trying not to act so damned affected.
