MESSIAH JORDY'S POVSeeing Arlo standing there plunged me into another nervous wreck. His silver hair was sleek and falling to his face. His black tux gave him a darker aura and his pose screamed authority. I could smell the alluring scent of his aftershave and it put my insides in a frenzy. I would have opted to feel him close and run my fingers through his hair if the air between us didn't seem so tense. The sidewalk was quiet with almost no one walking on it. It was a good thing though, 'cause I wouldn't want passersby eavesdropping on our conversation.I took slow steps to meet him and he turned and started walking ahead. I followed him quietly, as we left Gamma Micah's area. We walked a few more blocks before we got to some random convenience store. He went to one of the tables and pulled out a seat for me. I sat and he sat on the opposite seat."You want anything?" He asked in a cold tone, sending chills down my spine."Nah. I'm good." I shook my head, keeping my gaze lowered.
THIRD PERSON'S POV"Let me go!" Zoey yelled maniacally, repeatedly hitting her fist on Zach's well-shredded arms. "Dammit! Would you keep it down?!" Zach hissed, grabbing her tighter, despite her relentless squirms."I'll count to three. And if you don't let me go, I'll kick your nuts." Zoey threatened through heavy breaths."You're just bluffing." Zach scoffed."Am I?" Zoey flashed him a sardonic smile and put up her fingers in a count. "3…2…1…""Fine! Jesus!" Zach hurled her onto the bed, retreating to the other end of the room, just in case she decides to go through with her threat. "I thought you said I was just bluffing. Why then did you let me go?" Zoey mocked, standing from the bed. Her fingers ran through her disheveled blonde hair. "You're a piece of shit, Zach.""Gee. Thanks a lot, Zoey. But can I ask why I'm a piece of shit? Clearly, it can't be because I held you back from chasing after Jordy, right?""What else is it about?!" Zoey snapped with a yell. "And why the fuck
KING ARLO'S POVI chased after the spy but the damned creep had such quick legs and good knowledge about the area than I did. His tricky maneuver into small routes gave me a hard time catching him. Still, I was never giving up on the chase. We ran through sidewalks and alleys and fences and buildings. He wouldn't stop running, and I sure as hell wasn't going to stop chasing. We got a lot of speculators, and he bumped into a lot of people and stuff, but he didn't seem to mind. I, on the other hand, avoided creating any mayhem as I raced after him. It got really crazy when he ran into busy traffic, causing cars to screech off lanes and almost causing an accident. That was when I realized I was after one hell of a crack. I was getting rather too damned pissed having to chase him around the pack. When we got to another alley, and he was heading to hop over another gate, I did what I had to do. My powers were strictly for my pack affairs and Important matters. But what could be more imp
THIRD PERSON'S POVJamal let out a struggling breath as Arlo's hand tightened around his neck. He tried taking his hand off, but Arlo's grip was made out of steel. Impossible to get it off his neck."What the hell are you doing? Put my son down right now!" Luther yelled. His eyes flickered from how unnerved the situation was making him feel."I will, right after I've choked the last breath out of his body!" Arlo threatened, tightening his grip. He wasn't exactly sure if he could really carry out his threat of killing Jamal. Despite how much he hated Luther and everything related to him, he had to remember that Jordy had a bit of a soft spot for Jamal. Killing him would be putting her in a lot of pain. And that was one thing he'd never do to her.But the threat was necessary to make Luther reflect on his wrongs and realize that he wasn't someone he could trifle with and get away with it."Put Jamal down right now!" Luther raved, trembling from the tide of rage that enveloped his body.
THIRD PERSON'S POVStanding on her balcony, Zoey was restless. She'd been pacing for almost an hour and there was no stopping. Not when she was feeling super agitated and anxious. After the abrupt end of the call, she couldn't get in touch with her spy. She's been redialing his number but he wasn't picking it up. She had to know what happened to him. She had to know if she was safe or not. She had to know if Jordy already found out about her schemes. She had to know if that idiot was dead or not. She had to know if King Arlo would file for a trial, 'cause he found out about her plans. She had to know if she was going to spend the night here in their mansion or the dungeon. There were a lot of things she badly needed to know. She needed a lot of answers. Her mind was jumbled with thoughts and there was no downplaying how scared she was. If Jordy and King Arlo found out about her, she would be disgraced and stripped of her nobility. She would be imprisoned and become like one of those d
THIRD PERSON'S POV"Pass me the salt, please." Gamma Micah demanded, halfway into his plate of pasta. Zach reached for the salt, just the same time as Zoey did. They both grabbed it, but Zach was quick to take his hands off. The back of his hand had brushed against Zoey's, and he discreetly rubbed it off on his pants. A gesture Zoey didn't miss. She gulped down her discomfort and stretched the salt to her father."Thank you." Gamma Micah muttered. He went on to sprinkle a bit on his food. Then placed the salt next to his plate.Zach fixed his eyes on his plate, refusing to look up. Zoey was right opposite him, and the last thing he wanted was to look into her eyes. Her emerald eyes were glistening with dirty little secrets. They made his heart race. They made him uneasy and left him wondering just what she's gotten herself involved in.Her emerald eyes which used to be the most enchanting thing about her were now haunting him like a ghost. They now left him with goosebumps and a mil
THIRD PERSON'S POVZoey walked past the quiet lounge and headed for the elevator. She adjusted her hood twice and her dark shades too. She couldn't risk being noticed. That'll be the end of her.Just a while ago, she'd gotten a text from the thug. He'd sounded so deranged and had left her a long line of threats if she didn't come to meet him. She thought of calling his bluff, but that was too much of a risk. The guy was a lunatic. Daring him into carrying out his crazy threats could lead to an irreparable catastrophe. A fucking risk she could never take. She thought of paying him off, instead of letting him fuck her. She could be a lover of dicks, but there was a status requirement, and that lunatic doesn't meet that. She could never go down on him. Not even with a gun to her head. So yeah, paying him off was the better way out of this mess. When she'd returned to the dining table, she had a more peaceful breakfast with her Father. She fed him more lies about her beef with Zach, and h
THIRD PERSON'S POV Zach rang the doorbell again, stomping his foot on the threshold, with his hands tucked inside his pockets. His hairy coat teased his nape as the soft breeze blew through it. He was going to ring the doorbell again when the door was thrown open. He smiled at the female and walked into the house. "Jamal?" He demanded, glancing around the house which oozed solitude. It felt as if no one was home. But then, Jamal's house always has this aura of solitude. So it was nothing new. "In the backyard, Master." She bowed. "Thank you." Zach headed to the backyard and there was Jamal. He slowed in his steps, taking in the sight in front of him. Jamal sat on one of the lounge chairs, with a headphone on his ears, skimming through a book. Zach recognized it to be one of those ancient history books Jamal loved a lot. And on the table was a cocktail and he took sips from it, but never took his gaze off the book. The moment felt awfully familiar and Zach was hit with a wave of
