When we entered the dining room, all the generals were seated at the table eating and talking amongst themselves.

They went quiet for a minute and I got the sense that they were probably debating the innocence of the suspects we had questioned.

“Go on please, don't stop your chatting on our behalf,” I said pleasantly as Arnou wheeled me into an open space beside his seat.

Gemma was the first person to speak up. She gave me a genuine smile and said loudly.

“Well, I think Nikkini should be given the worst punishment possible for ruining your dress. That alone is worthy of punishment,”

“Honestly. I get that she hates you but ruining your wedding dress, come on that's a step too far,” Rabira said in agreement.

I agreed with them but I didn't show any signs of my personal feelings on the matter.

I was still thinking about Alisa and how she had called Herley’s attempt on my life a petty grudge.

Arnou picked up a plate and began to heap some food into it for me.
