Chapter 1

I had put on three dresses and I’d walk out and Mack and Frank would immediately tell me to go back and change. It was getting quite infuriating. On my fourth outfit, I decided on a simple outfit instead of something that would make Mack and Frank disapprove of my outfit. Again. I picked out ripped blue jeans with an off-the-shoulder black shirt with some Adidas sneakers. As for my hair, I grabbed an orange scrunchie, put it in my hair, and did a high ponytail.

“How about this outfit?” I asked, walking towards Mack and Frank and doing a little twirl for them.

They both nodded, finally pleased with my outfit. Thank goodness, I have no clue what else I would wear. I have to be careful about which outfits to wear. Especially in this house. Any clothes that I like to wear are now in the junkyard. And with Mack and Frank, they’re extremely careful with the things I wear. And sometimes it sucks. But it’s different when events arrive.

Why?

No clue. I don’t get told a ton of things in this house. And I know everyone is keeping something from me. They whisper certain things when I’m around. They walk on eggshells with me.

“Good, let’s go pick up Thea,” I said, pushing past them and running to the car. I gave Mack the address and once we arrived at her house, I saw her walking out in a cute black jumpsuit with black high heels. Once she slid into the car. I looked at her nails. She had gotten acrylic nails. They were simple and short. All of her nails had a thin layer of white nail polish on them. Her hair was up in a cute black bow while the rest of her hair was down.

“You look amazing, Thea!” I squealed.

“I think you look astonishing in that outfit.” She

squealed back.

We arrived at my parents’ club and walked in immediately. They recognized me and my bodyguards. Sometimes having a parent owning a club is nice. I don’t have to wait in line.

Once we entered the club, Thea and I stared in amazement at how big the room was and how many people were in there. The club had lots of seats and a massive bar with about 5 people working on drinks. The Dj is playing a song from The Fast and the Furious. I recognized the song from one movie that Thea made me watch. And let me say that Roman is one of my favorites.

“I’m getting me a Bloody Mary, are you coming?” Thea shouted. I could barely hear her.

“I’m gonna get me a drink. You wanna come?” I asked.

She rolled her eyes at me.

“That sounds like a splendid plan!” She yelled.

Did I miss something when she rolled her eyes? Maybe it was something she said. It’s not my fault that the music is so loud.

Once we downed a few drinks, we headed to the dance floor. Immediately, someone went up to Thea and was dancing with her. She turned and smiled at me.

“He’s hot!” Thea mouthed.

I laughed at her and turned around and bumped into someone. I split whatever drink all over them. Hopefully, they won’t get super upset about it. I’m not in the mood to put up with their attitude tonight. Especially after how many drinks I’ve had. And they are the stronger drinks too.

Immediately, my eyes went wide. My eyes dropped to the floor and my face was getting hot from how embarrassed I was. “I’m so sorry, sir,” I said.

“It’s all right. It was an accident.” He chuckled. His voice was not deep at all. Well, it was only slightly deep. I looked up at him. His hair was a dark black color, well, at least in the lighting he was standing in. His eyes seemed like they were light blue. They seemed to have a hint of gray around his pupil. He seemed to be around 6’4. His suit seemed expensive, like one that was worth thousands and thousands of dollars. It was a black suit with a black tie and his shirt was white. Well, it was white a few seconds ago. His shoes were also black, along with the pants that seemed too big on him. But maybe that’s just what he wanted. Or maybe he’s just an idiot like everyone else in this club.

“I feel awful! Can I please buy you a drink?” I asked. My eyes wouldn’t leave his gaze. I mean, he’s very attractive.

“Only if I can get your name.” He smirked. His smirk was even hot.

“It’s Melody,” I responded.

“I’m Liam.” He replied.

“What kind of drink do you want?” I asked as I walked towards the bar.

“Bourbon.”

“Of course it is.” I chuckled. He didn’t acknowledge my comment, which could mean two things.

One, he didn’t hear me, or two, he’s looking at my ass. So I swayed my hips a little more, matching the beat of the song.

I asked the bartender for a bourbon and a Piña Colada. Once the bartender guy gave me the drinks, I turned to hand the man his drink, but he was nowhere to be found. I looked around for him but didn’t see him anywhere.

“MELODY!” a voice shouted. I turned to see that Thea had already gotten drunk and was tripping all over herself. She kept stumbling into people around here. She even stole someone’s drink. I checked my phone and we’d only been there for an hour and a half.

“I think it’s time to go,” I said, racing over to her. I grabbed Mack and Frank, and once we got near the car, Thea started puking all over the ground. It was a good thing I pulled her hair back, making sure none got in her hair.

Once she was done, we got into the car and I walked her to her door and helped her to bed. Once I did that, I walked back outside and back into the car and we headed home.

-----

After I had told Wilson to get my men in the conference room, I told them what I had planned and what each of their roles was. Some weren’t happy with the jobs I gave them. But I reassured them that their “talents” needed to be elsewhere. The truth, though, is someone may have gotten on my nerves. This is one way I could get them to listen to me next time when I give orders. I did, however, change my mind about someone else grabbing her. Instead, I decided I was going in and I was the one to grab her. The best thing was how confused Wilson looked. His eyebrows were all scrunched together while his jaw was hanging out.

I’m pretty sure everyone here thinks he’s a complete idiot. I know I would.

Once I got into my tuxedo, I had Anthony drive me towards the club that I figured Mack and Frank would take her and her friend to. It was the one her father loved the most. And was the closest to their house.

I snuck in, trying to avoid any contact with the men in her father’s mafia so I wouldn’t get myself killed. I saw her and her friend walk in and stare in amazement at the club. Must’ve been there first time in a club. I figured the one that wasn’t in the jumpsuit was her friend. The other girl must’ve been her. I kept my eye on her as she chugged down her drink and watched as she and her friend headed to the dance floor. I noticed her friend had already had someone dancing with her while the other girl was just chilling. After a minute of watching what they do, I quickly grabbed a drink and started heading towards her and on “accident” I bumped into her, spilling my drink on my expensive suit.

Should’ve worn my other suit.

I could see the embarrassment come across her face. “I’m so sorry, sir.” She mumbled.

“It’s all right. It was an accident.” I chuckled. It was anything but an accident. Once I talked, she looked up at me. I saw she was taking in what I looked like. So I did the same thing. Her hair was almost completely brown, it had a few blonde highlights throughout her hair. She was a little shorter than me. It looked like she was about 5’5. Her eyes seemed an emerald color. Once we made eye contact, I felt the urge to protect her from danger. But I knew I had to get my revenge on her family.

I am the danger.

“I feel awful! Can I please buy you a drink?” She offered. Her cheeks turned light pink.

I didn’t know this girl’s name. I had been so busy figuring out what my plan was that I forgot to look up her name. “Only if I can get your name,” I

smirked, feeling pretty proud of myself. Why? Maybe it’s because of how smoothly I played that.

“Melody,” she responded with a small blush on her cheeks.

“Liam,” I replied. Man Melody, that’s a really lovely name. Sucks that I’m gonna destroy her entire family, though.

“What kind of drink do you want?” She asked.

We started walking to the bar, and I quickly responded, “Bourbon.”

On our way to the bar, her hips swayed to the beat of the song. Her bodyguards were looking for her. And they looked frantic. I didn’t want them to know I was here. I left quickly and snuck out through the back and saw my car running and Anthony waiting for me.

“Did she pull a disappearing act on you as girls do?” Anthony smugly asked.

“What was that?” I asked in a deadly tone.

The color on his face was gone in less than a second.

“I mean… where is she?”

“I always forget about how she has bodyguards everywhere she goes.” I sighed, “Guess we’re gonna storm her house and take her there.” As I slid into the car, I looked up at Anthony. “Oh, and if you talk to me like that again, you’re going to regret it.” I threatened with a smile on my face.

We hopped in the car and drove off back to my home. That’s when I would plan a way to get in and have an escape plan. I have to choose the best way to get in. After all, I can’t have my men die. I cared for my mafia, but there is one thing I care more about.

Revenge.
