You’re delusional.

Pushing off the covers, I sat up. Had it been a dream? No, that had really happened. I’m not sure how I slept off in between the noise Grey was making and the tears, but when I woke up, it was almost dark. Weird. I woke up later than usual today and then slept twice during the day. It was weird. A quick glance at my phone showed the time as a little after six p.m.

Usually, by this time, I would hang out with Grey in the study room, and then we’d have dinner together. After that, we’d go for a walk in the garden, Tina’s tip for easy digestion. Then we’d call it a night and cuddle each other to sleep. But that wasn’t going to happen anymore.

Apart from the bread and soup I had by noon, I hadn’t eaten anything else. Right on cue, my stomach grumbled. I put my hand to my belly as my eyes watered. My child. Grey threatened to take her away, but was I going to allow that? What could I possibly do? My stomach whined again, and I stood and went to the door. Then stop
