TONY’S FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW

A middle aged woman pointed at the opposite corner to her end for me. I could see a tattered mat there unoccupied. I looked back at her. She was the only one who paid me an attention as everyone else returned to sleep since they realized I was not a threat.

“You can sleep there. The occupant is not in at the moment.” She said and also turned her back as she slept on her side and cuddled a young girl which I presumed to be her daughter. There were kids in the room as well some of which were alone with no adult to watch over them like her daughter. The abandoned house seemed to have many rooms so I wondered if they were also filled up the same as this one. I thanked her then went to the corner she pointed for me. I went there and sat down with my back leaning on the wall. The room was stinking and hot even as I had no shirt on but it was better than the cold and the danger I would be exposed to outside.
