The traitors appearance.

Evie's POV

The rain that seemed like it was a blessing this afternoon was slowly turning into a curse for me. It continued to pour down from that afternoon until now. And by now, I meant late into the night.

I already drank to my heart's feelings and I was no longer thirsty or even hungry at the moment. But I was cold. No, scratch that. I wasn't just cold, I was freezing. From my hair to the clothes I had on to the ten tows on my feet, everything was drenched with water from the sky.

I prayed and prayed for the rain to stop but my appeal wasn't heard by God. My teeth clattered as streams of water continued to pour down my face. I struggled to keep my eyes open too, seeing as I couldn't wipe the excess water away from my face as they kept falling. By the time I was tired of wishing that the rain would stop, I just rested my head on the pier that was the support holding me firmly to a spot. I closed my eyes, willing the pain away from myself.
