Left to die.

Evie's POV

The harsh sun beat down on my head and face. I tried to turn sideways to keep my face away from the sun but the rope binding me did not give me the free movement I needed. Knowing that I had no other choice, I bowed my head in a bid to save my face.

Not exactly like there was something to save about the face. I was not beautiful, so it was not like I was trying to protect my beauty. But I had a wound on my cheek, probably gotten from Damon's nail when he slapped me. The wound on my chest burned too and I dropped my head even lower to act as a protective shield to the wounds.

I coughed for a while. My lips were dry and my throat hurt from not having any water to drink for the past two days. I continually wet my lips with my tongue to keep them from cracking, but even now, it seemed like my tongue needed some water.

My stomach grumbled and I was reminded of my lack of nutrition also. With the way I was being starved for food and water, I felt like I was going to remain only
