17 - Surprising News
Melissa's POV
It was nearly past eleven p.m. Mom, dad, Clementine, Dominic and I, we were all waiting patiently for Rose and Eugene to come back to the villa. I hope Rose enjoyed her surprise. It took me almost a whole day to find the best wedding ring fitting for her. I know we barely know each other, but in these past few weeks, I've come to acknowledge Rose as not just one of my closest friends, but she feels like the sister I never had. We just clicked.
As my thoughts carried me away, we heard the back door open. That must be them! We all stared at each other and started to converse to make ourselves look busy. As soon as they appeared at the entrance to the living room, we stopped and looked at them. Well, this is awkward. Let's try to rescue this situation a little bit before it gets out of hand.

Rose's POV"Rose, how is everything going on your side?" I heard Melissa scream from the other side of the wedding venue."Everything is going smoothly so far,"I said as I told the staff where all the chairs would stand. It's been about three hours since we came back to the house. The original plan was to help Mama and Coraline with the Engagement Party setup, but they didn't want to hear anything about it. Instead, they kept Eugene and chased me away with my assistant - who in turn tried to guide me to my room without needing to keep Eugene from interfering. Well, needless to say, she was so fed up with dealing with Eugene that I needed to let him off in the kindest way possible. Father stole me from enjoying my evening with her to become acquainted with some new business partners for future business deals. It was good, though, because Rose's mother also stole her away to get acquainted with new people. I assumed that her mother was also introducing Rose to her business partners. Pfft. Now that I think about it, Rose and I are only marrying because it was a business transaction between our parents. I find it amusing to think that we are a business deal between our parents. Eugene's POVI watched Rose's sleeping figure as we landed. She looked so peaceful. I felt bad waking her up. I walked over to her seat and crouched down until I was level with her face. I studied her for a bit longer, admiring how innocent she looked. I didn't know how long I stared at her, but the pilot came to inform me that everything was loaded into the limo. I nodded and sighed. Time to wake the monster.I stroked my hands through Rose's hair. This seemed to wake her up as she groaned and looked at me once her eyes opened.I smiled, still combing through her hair."Hello, darling. We landed a couple of minutes ago.
