Blue
Chapter 11 - Blue            After I had been pushed out from the throne room, the guards led me down the narrow hallway in the castle. We travelled through the maze of stone, up and down endless staircases and bustling people. The castle was alive inside the walls as I watched maids scurry from room-to-room cleaning as they went, and guards watching them longingly as they swept by them. We passed a large kitchen, where loud banging of pots and pans and loud voices could be heard as they prepared the kings next meal. The scent of freshly baked bread and roasted chicken hit my nose as we passed, and my stomach screamed at me involuntarily. The last thing I had to eat was that soup from the doctor, and that seemed like days ago, even though it had only been just a few hours. The guards continued to walk me through the castle until we reached our destination. A small wooden door glared down at me, and had a larg

Mallory
Chapter 12 - Mallory*Prince Devin POV*                “Don’t stop! Right there! Gods, Devin!” The girl screamed and writhed under me as I pounded into her. After my meeting with my father and that damned faerie, I needed a distraction, and this little blond seemed to be the perfect choice to get my mind off of it.                “Be quiet, the entire kingdom doesn’t need to hear you Mallory.” I grunted at her, and dug my fingers into her hips to give myself more leverage. She was leaned over my office desk, and was standing on her toes to attempt to match my height. Gripping the edge of the wood as each thrust rattled the entire structure. Her tanned skin glistening with sweat as she took heavy breaths. Not only is he sparing that disgusting creature’s life, he&rs

Trapped
Chapter 13 - Trapped                   I was woken by light streaming through pale blue sheer curtains. The sunlight bouncing off of the colors, and making the entire room look as though it was underwater. I groaned, and rolled over, pulling the soft covers above my head to block out the brightness that was invading my senses. Warmth surrounded me and the large fluffy pillows molded around my body, if I could, I would happily die in the heaven that was this bed. I was just drifting back off into sleep when two loud bangs sounded on the door, causing me to shoot up out of bed. Heart pounding in my chest. I listened for the normal creaking and grinding of the iron lock shifting, but when it never came, I inched closer to the large wooden door. A small piece of white paper was laying on the stone by the door, obviously slid under through the small gap in a hurry. I picked it up and u

Throw a Punch
Chapter 14 – Throw a Punch                 “Let’s go faerie.” Devin said, and turned on his heel to walk towards the blue mats that were placed on the ground. I slowly followed behind him, still seething from being called a disgusting creature. If I had a chance today to punch him in that pretty face, I was going to take it without hesitation. Devin stopped at the first mat, and turned to look at me. “Do you have any fighting experience at all?” he asked, distaste thick in his words. The tension between us thick enough to cut with a knife.                “Does fighting for my life against your men count?” I snapped at him, and he rolled his eyes at me, as if to tell me to get over it. His callous response sending my temper bubbling over. I clenched my fists, s

A New Development
Chapter 15 – A New Development We continued to train on the field every morning at seven am. After about two weeks of Devin showing me how to correctly punch, kick, and block; we moved on to simple escape moves from a standing position. Devin was still as intolerable as ever, but the information he has was useful, and I was getting better every day. I was able to get out of a simple wrist grab, and could get someone off me if they grabbed me from behind. Our training became longer, and Devin had actually begun to speak to me humanly, and not as if I was some sort of demon. I still hated him, and he made it clear he was forced to be there, but I actually started to look forward to our time together instead of dreading it.   My body was taking nicely to the intense work outs too. In two weeks, I could feel the muscles start to form in my arms and legs. The little belly fat I had was barely noticeable, and my butt had

Moira
Chapter 16 - Moira                Moira stayed until late into the night, giggling and talking. It was nice to take a night, and just be a normal teenage girl for once. Through it all I almost started to believe that I was some sort of monster, and not just a normal eighteen-year-old.Moira had attempted to teach me how to flirt, even pretending to be some guy with a fake deep voice and everything, but she eventually conceded when I was too embarrassed to look at her. She had patted me on the head, and told me how cute I was. Making my face flush even more than it had been. When she left in the middle of the night, I was exhausted. Showering quickly before jumping into the comfortable bed, and snuggling myself into the soft covers. Whatever was coming, at least I knew I would have her to depend on. I woke the next morning to the usual knock on the door that signaled fifteen

Sparks
Chapter 17 - Sparks Marcus found me still sitting at the immense dining room table, staring at the full plate of food I hadn’t touched.  Luckily, Simon was still not around, and Marcus gave me the time to gather myself before taking me back up to the room. Walking in slow comfortable silence instead of pushing me to hurry along.  When we arrived, he lifted the large bolt and pushed the door to the room open for me. I went to step inside, but he stopped me with a hand. I turned to look at him, and he placed a large warm hand on my shoulder and gave it a small squeeze. Marcus didn’t seem to be great with feelings, but I gave him a watery smile at the attempt to comfort me. He stepped aside so I could walk into the large bedroom, and he pulled the door closed behind me. As soon as the lock clicked back into place I sprinted to the bathroom and threw up the contents of my stomach into the toilet. Hugging the cool ceramic as

Temper
Chapter 18 - Temper Devin helped me stand to my feet, kicking some of the rubble out of our way, as he helped me walk on shaking legs back through the training doors. I lifted my foot to take the first step, but my leg gave out and I tumbled forward; closing my eyes in preparation to hit my face on the hard stone. Large warm hands wrapped around my waist, and lifted me into the air before I could land, and Devin lifted me into his arms; tucking his arms under my knees as he continued to walk up the stairs as if I weighed nothing. I could feel the heat gathering on my cheeks when I opened my eyes and looked up at him. He was staring straight ahead, his blond hair hanging disheveled into his multi-colored eyes. “I-I can walk myself.” I stuttered out, but he ignored me and continued to carry me up the stairs, passing my room on the way down the hall. “Hey, that one’s mine.” I kicked my legs, weakly struggling

Heat
Chapter 19 – HeatI struggled against Devin, attempting to twist and pull my arms from his grasp but it was useless. He held firm with one hand wrapped around both my wrists pinning them above my head, and moved his right leg in between mine, pressed his hips down onto me. He dipped his head down, bringing his lips against my cheek, and causing sparks to scatter down my body.“Stop fighting, and calm down.” He whispered into my ear, his hair brushing against my neck as he used his free hand to reach into his pocket. He pulled the iron bracelet out, and reached up to my trapped wrists, locking it into place around my left arm with a loud snap. I winced as the cool and unforgiving metal grazed the thin skin, leaving its usual trail of burns as it slid down my arm. “Take a deep breath Aspen.” The prince mumbled into my cheek. I inhaled deeply, the smell pine and lavender filling my senses, and making me lightheaded. Even when I hated him

Release
Chapter 20 – Release Light filtered through dark curtains as I squinted through half asleep eyes. I couldn’t remember the last time I slept so well. I sighed as I attempted to snuggle myself deeper into the soft cushions, but was met with a tight resistance wrapped around my waist. My eyes fluttered fully open, and I looked down to see a thick muscled arm wrapped around me. My eyes widened, as the fog cleared from my head, and I recounted the events of the night before. I was in Devin’s’ bed. Not only was I in his bed, but he was wrapped around me, holding me tightly to his chest, and legs locked around mine. I shifted, attempting to pull myself out of his arms, but he groaned and pulled me tighter to him, something hard poking into my hip. I felt my face flush, as warmth again started to spread through my body. “Hold still, it’s still early.” He grunted at me, and I froze, heart beating fast as I felt him a
